The Perfect Gift

Sometimes around gift giving time (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, birthday, anniversary, or Christmas), someone will ask me what I want for a gift. I usually answer a wife.

No, not for that! but the someone who would take care of all the mundane tasks, chores, cleaning that are invovled with running a household and keeping things neat and tidy.

What's that? You say I should just get a maid?  A maid would have to be paid. A maid gets a day off. A wife doesn't get paid an hourly wage or salary and s/he would be available 24/7. No sick time, no vacation time.

I wouldn't have to find the balance between working at home and working to keep the home running. I could create, take classes, go to conferences knowing the house would be humming along when I got back. Yup, a wife would be the perfect gift.
