Throwback Thursday

Hey, man! What are ya doin' standin' in the cold ocean?
My friend, Teague, had moved out to the San Fernando Valley in California during the early 1980s.

I went out to visit her in the beginning of March 1982 (I think). This was from our road trip up north where we saw the Hearst Castle and a quaint tourist town called Solvang.

We spent the night at a motel in Cambria (I think) near the beach. Here's me standing in the Pacific Ocean for the first time. The water was quite warm. Certainly felt a lot warmer than swimming at the beaches in Maine during the Summer.

This picture makes me sad, too. I lost that jacket at the airport in Denver on the return trip back home. The baseball-style jacket was an Izod LaCoste, and I bought it on a triple mark down at Filene's. It was reversible, too. Reversed from the tan canvas to a navy sweater. I loved that jacket.
