Pretty in Pink and Yellow

Found this guest resting on the house by the front door. According to Wikipedia this moth is a Dryocampa rubicunda and they like maple trees.

Hopefully, the caterpillars of  this creature won't be as destructive as the Gypsy Moth infestation we had last year and predicted worse for this year.

  2. I haven't ever seen one of these. Its really pretty. Wonder why it has such cool colors when it comes out at night? Yup I'm thinking like a biologist. Hugs-Erika
