T Stands for Cake and Tea

Oh, to have the skill to make cakes like these. And I have the tea cup pattern she used to mold her fondant teacup. It's a Royal Albert china teacup from the Regal series. I have two of the cups in black and dark red which is packed away. My Godmother told me a collection of tea cups needs to have at least one black cup to complete a collection.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  2. Wow. She is an amazing artist, isn't she? I really enjoyed the video! I never heard of having a dark tea cup to complete the collection. That's interesting. I wonder where that comes from. There always seems to be interesting stories behind "things" like needing a black cup. I say things as I can't think of a better word right now. happy T Day CJ. Hugs-Erika

    1. Things is a good word. Maybe the story came from Victorian times where there were all sorts of rules of etiquette for entertaining.

  3. OK, I admit, some of these cakes are unique, but I'm sure not fond of that music she chose. Picky, picky me. That polar bear was created similarly to how I've seen polymer clay artists make similar animals. But that amazing tea pot and cup were out of this world. They were so well done and so wonderfully decorated, in my jaw dropping awe, I almost forgot the sing-song music.

    Your cup and saucer are as beautiful as the one the lady used as a mold, but I bet you aren't going to use yours as a mold. And of course, I've never heard of needing a black tea cup to complete your set, but then, I only have ones my grandmother left me, which are obviously NOT beautiful and delicate like yours.

    Thanks for sharing your fabulous tea cup and these wonderful cake decorating skills with us for T this Tuesday.

    1. I'm usually not fond of music used as background in videos. I mute the sound. I was a little shocked she used such a delicate teacup for a mold. A teacup is always beautiful especially if it is well-loved.

  11. The cakes look too complicated for me. Simple is the only way to go if I'm cooking ;)

    I've never heard the tradition of needing a black cup to complete a collection. Fun :)

    Happy T Tuesday!

    1. The cakes were beautiful. After all that work baking and decorating, it would almost be hard to cut the cake and eat it. Almost. (-;
