How Does Your Garden Grow?

The garden is covered in snow. During the storm, the cardinal was visiting the back birdfeeder. The sunroom window was covered with condensation and when I went to wipe off a spot to take a picture, the cardinal flew to his perch on Himself's twig.

Himself got a new toy. A movie projector that projects holiday movies on the window. There are 6 movies for Halloween and Christmas. The blurry red blobs are cardinals that help  a snowman get dressed with hat and mittens. After I snapped the image, we figured out how to focus the lens.

Another new toy Himself got. Bells that line the walkway. They are on a motion sensor and will light and play a few Christmas carols. The motion detector must be pointed out to the street because every time a car goes by, the bells sing. They don't play if you're on the front walk and jumping and waving your arms. Ask me how I know this. Apologies for the sideways video, but someone forgets to turn the camera for video.

We got around 6 inches of snow. Looks like the plow murdered the mailbox again.

Some body was visiting the front birdfeeder.

The Japanese maple still hasn't dropped its leaves. Before the snow started Himself covered the laser camera with an orange bucket. (My idea.) So we'll be able to find and turn the laser light show on.

Icedrangeas

Path cleared to the front feeder. Then I had to stop taking pictures and get back to shoveling the front walk and clearing snow off the cars before the boss started yelling.

Hope your garden is warmer than mine.

  1. You got a little more than us for snow. We got about 3-4 inches. Just enough white, but they are saying that we are suppose to get 5-8 at my house on Tuesday. The coast however will only get 1 before it turns to rain so no snow day. Oh what good is snow without a snow day? :) Love your photos. Your husband really gets into these holiday decorations, doesn't he? I can't eve get mine to hang a wreath without a little nagging. :) (But I think he secretly likes to be nagged a bit so then he can legitimately complain about something other than politics.) Happy Sunday. hugs-Erika

    1. The Eldest took a snowday. She has to work weekends so the snow worked out for her. They weren't saying too much about Tuesdays snow on the news last night. Himself really loves Christmas lights. He'd have the house visible from space if the Grinch didn't whine so loudly about the electricity bill.

  2. I laughed so hard as I was reading this post. I thought it was fun and funny. Your husband loves his gadgets, I can tell. I've seen those laser pointers and I've seen the projectors on TV. You are the first person I know who bought one, though.

I can't BUY any rain or snow. We are supposed to hit 65 F today.

  4. You sound very much like me, I do not particularly like the snow and/or cold weather. We were supposed to get only 1 to 3 inches here but ended up with 6 as well!!

BTW CJ, are you interested in the winter wreath giveaway at all? I did something I rarely do and that is publish two posts in one day so I am just making sure that you at least saw it No biggie. :)

    Have a great day!

    1. Ugh, rain on top of snow. that will make things icy and treacherous. Stay safe.

    1. You can have the snow, Stacy. I can do without it. I righted the mailbox, but I'm sure it will be knocked down another time or three. I'm tempted to paint a bullseye on it.
