The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Was going to have the Easter Egg Bread for dinner Saturday night, but I started the process too late so sent out for Five Guys instead.

2. A woman on Ancestry.com contacted me about my great-uncle Vincent, the Judge. Turns out she is my second cousin, once removed.

She sent me a picture of Uncle's grave. I had documentation that he was buried at St. Michael's in Roslindale, only there was no grave stone when I went to visit a few years ago. Turns out, he's buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Teague and I made plans for a cemetery hop if it ever stops frigging snowing.

3. Himself recorded  a bunch of the old, Hollywood epic, Holy Movies. Ben Hur, Quo Vadis, Barabbas, Silver Chalice,

4. Himself installed my cabidor.

5. It was a good week for happy mail.

How was your week?

  1. Another wonderful week! Your photo of the Easter bread with the blue bunny and egg made me smile - perfect 😀. How lovely to find out more about your ancestry and let's hope the snow stops so you can visit the cemetery soon. While your waiting for the snow to melt you have some great films to watch though. I'd never heard of a cabidor so I looked it up, what a great idea and perfect for crafting - are you using it in your new craft space? Glad you received lots of happy mail too. My week has been fun, filled with birthday treats and we have more adventures planned next week as it will be quieter with the school holidays over. Wishing you a Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊 x

  2. You had a good week. Your bread looks eggscellent. :) I had to also look up a cabidor as I didn't know that word, but that looks like a really useful cabinet to have. I could use one, but then my kitchen needs some work. Those sound like good movies to watch. I have been addicted to a Netflix show-Raiders of the Lost ARt but I am almost done with it. Time to find something new so maybe some old movies would be a good choice. Hope your Friday is good also. Hugs-Erika

    1. Netflix doesn't have a great selection of old movies. You might be able to find some old ones to watch free on Youtube

  3. That Easter bread look good. Sorry the weather is getting to you, it's no wonder after so much winter and snow. Great that you got a contact through ancestry, I have discovered lots of new relations this way. But please, what is a cabidor? Hugs, Valerie

    1. The Easter bread is an old photo from a couple of years ago. Make one Easter bread and they all look pretty much the same.

A cabridor is a cabinet that hangs on the back of a door. You'll see it in action in a future blog post.

  4. Was going to comment on your Easter bread until I read it was an old photo. Regardless, it sounds like a fun and exciting week. Now it's my turn to get snow, ice, and wintery mix. Projected forecast is in the low teens this weekend. Just when I thought my tulips might actually bloom this year.

    1. Oh, so sorry, Elizabeth. Stay safe. The only silver lining is snow at this time of the year doesn't last very long. I hope!

    1. The Titanic starring Barbara Stanwyck, Clifton Webb, and a baby Robert Wagner is one of my favorites. Himself recorded that and A Night To Remember, with David MacCallum. Another Titanic story.

  6. That Easter Egg bread looks so yummy! That is so cool about your second cousin. I have to admit, I don't understand what "once removed" means?
