T Stands for Twin Temptations

This should be my Tuesday post, but I'm posting a day earlier so I can keep our vacation trip to Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Carolina in sequence.

After working in the garden, it was time for lunch. The Eldest took us to her favorite cafe called Twin Temptations.

I had an unsweetened ice tea

The bakery cases were filled with cupcakes, cookies, and assorted goodies.

The restaurant is small, homey and decorated with antique/vintage bric a brac. I remember the Sinclair gas station near my grandma's house when I was little. Gas was 27 cents a gallon at that station. Yup, I'm a dinosaur, too.

I had nearly eaten my ham, egg, and cheese on a blueberry bagel (the only bagels available for sandwiches were blueberry and everything and I don't like onion or garlic) before Himself reminded me to take a picture. The French fries were really good, too.

Shortbread cookies were beautifully decorated. Himself and I split the black bear cookie while the Eldest shared the dolphin cookie with her sister. She got two pink macarons for her birthday.

I thought the gas pump door handle was pretty cool.

Goodbye, Wavy Arm Tube Dude! We'll look for you again on our next visit.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  2. I agree with Valerie. That was a fun place with great memorabilia. I also thought the door handle was unique. It seems to be a great place to take someone on their birthday.

BTW, it took me six times seeing that bear before I finally "SAW" it for what it was. Thanks for sharing your tea and the fun trip to Twin Temptations with us for T this week. I'm really enjoying this trip you took.

    1. TT had delicious food and lots of stuff to look at including all the beautiful pastries. It took me a few minutes to figure out the cookie was a black bear when the Young One found it.

  6. Happy early T Day! You choice of place to eat is a treat in itself, and the food looks good. Those cookies! I remember Sinclair gas stations. It's been quite a while since I saw one of those signs.

    1. The cookies were gorgeous. You could lose a week's salary on the cookies and cupcakes.

    2. I know macarons aren't easy to make, but their prices always surprise me. Sometimes, though, a treat is called for. :)

  14. Cool place!! The pump handles as door handles are genius! We had a Sinclair station in town until about 3 years ago. It was torn down in the name of "progress". Starbucks,
a dentist office and already defunct Italian restaurant stand in its place. New isn't always better.
    Happy T day!

  15. Wavy Arm Tube Dude - you're a riot, CJ. That looks like a very cool restaurant. The cookies are delightful. The gas pump door handle is very clever.

Gas was 31 cents a gallon when I started driving. On the other hand, I made just 50 cents an hour babysitting. lol

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

    1. Yeah, 50 cents an hour for 5 kids. Plus you were expected to feed them, do dishes, and clean up! Those were the days.

  16. Oh, my goodness, the black bear cookie is awesome! It is nice you split it. My hubby keeps me in line, too. He would so something like remind me to take the photo! LOL. Yep, I also am a dinasore! I remember gas for .17 cents a gallon! LOL. Have a great Tea Day!

  17. This looks like a fun place to eat although I don't know about blueberry with ham, egg and cheese...is this an unusual combination? The cookies and cakes look good! Happy T Day! Chrisx

    1. Yeah, the combination is unusual. They had run out of plain bagels. All they had left were blueberry and an everything. I don’t like garlic or onion so the only choice was blueberry. It was pretty good.
