T Stands for Catalog Day

I love catalogs. Especially at this time of year. Monday is catalog day; the day the mailman gets a hernia trying to lift the stack of catalogs from his truck to the mailbox. Catalogs can arrive any day of the week, but the bulk of them are in the mailbox on Monday.

I love to flip through the catalogs while sipping a cup of tea. Makes for a relaxing break, or an excuse to procrastinate. I sometimes get ideas for gifts, and sometimes I buy gifts for myself.

Sometimes the pictures are used in collages and sometimes the catalog pages make a great mat to keep the table clean when gluing. When I'm finished flipping, the catalogs go to the recycle bin.

Do you like browsing through catalogs? What's your favorite catalog to look through?

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. I don't get too many catalogues, but if I do I always rip/cut out any images I can use to play with! Happy T Day, Valerie

  2. I don't mind a catalogue or 2 but at this time of year there are so many! I feel like it is a waste of paper in some ways. Good thing there is recycling. But on the other hand, my daughter did sit down and mark them with what she wanted so it helps me find her a Christmas gift. :) Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

    1. They do tend to come every.single.day around this time of year. Good that your daughter marked the things that she would like. Catalogs are handy for that.

  4. I don't get many catalogs anymore. But it's okay, saves me money. (Now if I could only learn to control myself on Amazon! LOL)

  5. yes, the poor mail carriers this time of year especially. We get very few catalogues, but those we get I do like to look through- mostly for collage fodder:) Happy T day and a happy Thanksgiving too!

  6. We occasionally get catalogues through the post but generally we have to pick them up in store. I like looking at the Home ones especially at this time of year with the different Christmas homewares and room layouts they show 😁. Sending you happy T Day wishes! J 😊 x

  7. We used to get so many catalogs, and I loved thumbing through them. We get few these days, and I guess that's best since they go into the recycle bin so quickly. But I do miss them. I found so many fascinating things that way.

    1. My neighbor, Prissy, used to pass magazines along to me. Or she'd ask if I got the big LL Bean Christmas catalog. So nice when friends share. I miss Prissy.

  9. Great that you get these catalogs. I don't get any. I used to, but I don't buy anything from them, so they no longer send me any. I miss them for collage fodder, but I have lots of fodder here, I believe. I would LOVE to sit down with you and your tea and go over these catalogues, though. Thanks for sharing these and your tea with us for T this Tuesday.

  12. I don't get any catalogues anymore, except once a year , the Stamping Up one. Sounds like a fun thing to look through them and then used them in collages! I am missing something. Happy T Day!

    1. Looking at catalogs is the grown-up version of looking through the Sears toy catalog

  13. We don't seem to get catalogs in the post, but most of our large stores have one to pick up for free on leaving the store. They are a good source of images for collage pages.
    Happy T day wishes

    1. If you ordered from some of the online retailers, you'd get a catalog every single day. :-D

  14. Yes, I love leafing through catalogs too, CJ. Sadly I don't get many anymore because of living in Mexico. So I use magazines the way you use catalogs. Inspiration, phrases, images.

Happy Thanksgiving and T-day! Eileen xoxo

  15. Living where we do (in a village in southern Spain) we don't get any catalogues in the mailbox. But when we lived in the UK, we got loads. Especially this time of year, just before Christmas...
I do like to read through the Lidl's catalogue which we actually get in the shop and it has all the special offers for the coming week. I look what they will be selling and am interested in the non-food section. They sell clothes and household appliances. But they will only sell it that particular week, so you buy it, and don't wait because it will be gone. Funnily enough we get that catalogue on Monday (as that is our weekly shop day) and Monday I read the catalogue just like you. I will think of you next Monday lol.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Lisca
