How Does Your Garden Grow?

Up near the woods, I found evidence of a visitor. A deer, maybe?

Earlier in the week a dusting of snow.

One of the bunnies ventured out for breakfast. Can Spring be far behind?

One of the bird friends huddles in the feeder

Brrrrr, but no snow like that in the picture. No complaints from me.

How does your garden grow?

  2. I'm giving thought to Spring and trying to decide how I want my garden to grow. I'm ready for a change and am looking for a small tree (redbud? dogwood?) to add to the patio. I want something that'll attract birds.

It's _cold_ there! I guess the rabbits and deer don't mind, but I shiver to think of it lol

    2. Yup, it's a might chilly. My parents had a flowering crab apple. Not a regular crab apple. This had white blossoms in Spring and then tiny red berries in the Fall. The birds loved 'em.

    3. I love hyacinths but they make me sneeze

    4. I'm googling crabapples with delight! There are so many different kinds, and some are good for southern areas. The dwarf crabapples are even small enough for my patio :) Thanks!

    5. I'll see if I can find a picture of the one in my parents' yard. It was quite large, but maybe because they just let it grow and never pruned it

  3. It's marginally colder there than here, but your daytime high is predicted to be a bit less than my 30 F. We are in for a cold winter, but at least I haven't had to shovel snow this year. Mine melts before it gets too heavy. Looks like your dusting did, too. I saw on the news that Boston and points north would be avoiding the snow that has ravaged the east coast this weekend.

    1. Yup, that storm stayed south of us. No snow is a good thing

  4. It's not been too bad weather wise today (Sunday) and managed to get out and about for a short walk … on the way back dark clouds were fast approaching - but no rain (or snow) yet.

Loved seeing your photographs, I'm hoping for some snowdrops to appear soon …

Hope your weekend has been good.

    All the best Jan

  5. Lucky you not to have a white, icy ground cover. :) I am taking a small solace that the days have become oh so slightly longer. Since we are white and crusty it's all I can do. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

  6. No snow here although over the last several days here and there we had frosty and hail with a heavy rain storm. My garden grows on the railing of my deck in pots that I bring in during the winter and now they are growing in my kitichen.

    1. Nice to see growing things when outside is bleak. I don't have a green thumb but have managed to keep the peace lily the Eldest left behind when she moved

  7. We have not got hardly any snow for this winter, yet! It's very strange! I've seen our bunny too!
