The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Skyped with the Eldest

2. After almost a year being unemployed, she got a job at a call center. Not what she wants, but it will pay the bills

3. She also had an interview as a lab tech (what she wants). Fingers crossed this job comes through.

4. Heard lots of birds singing as I went out to run errands.

5. Taught the Young One to bake bread.

How was your week?

  1. Good luck for the Eldest that she gets the job she wants. My week was chaotic , but that's nothing new! Have a nice day, Valerie

  2. I'm glad to hear the Eldest got a job, even if it wasn't what she wanted, so she can pay the bills. Hopefully the lab tech job comes through. That bread looks good. Looks like we're in for a cold weekend, but at least there's no snow in the forecast.

    1. We're hoping the adage that it's hard to find a job when you don't have one compared to when you have a job you can find one works.

    1. Oh, Tabbies, I love the little birdies. Birdies were Ink’s favorite thing to watch.

  5. Best wishes for a successful return on that interview. For an economy that's supposed to be doing well there seem to be a lot of people unable to find jobs that provide full-time work, benefits, and a livable income. I hurt for this generation :(

    Bread-making sounds like fun :)

    1. It’s a lot tougher out there than government officials are spinning up.

  6. The girlies were your favorites this week, I think. I hope the eldest gets the job she wants. Call centers can be stressful and they have a HIGH turnover rate.

I think your youngest did GOOD. That bread looks yummy. I bet it tasted good, too.

    1. The Eldest worked for a catalog company while she was in college, she worked for the cable company, Spectrum for a year before she moved to Pennsylvania so knows only too well the downside of customer service.. Hopefully, her manning the phones will be a short stint

  7. congrats to the eldest - and hope she gets the job she wants at some point. Anything helps though.. And fun with the youngest baking. For me my day was great - i have one son who calls and we actually talk usually for about 3 hours ...maybe once every two weeks. Today was that day. That always makes it a good day.
