T Stands for Hot Cross Buns

Heathen dolt that I am, I forgot that Hot Cross Buns are made for Good Friday. I wouldn't have remembered except that a friend posted a picture of the hot cross buns she made.

So, I might have been a day late, but they tasted real good.

Are you a fan of Hot Cross Buns?

  1. In Australia I saw Hot Cross Buns (but as I don´t like sweets much didn´t try them). I asked AI and it´s new but around Easter in some places you can get them here now, too. The world becomes a small place! Happy T-Day!

  2. I had hot crossed buns as a kid and didn't like them. I wanted the top to be covered with frosting. I haven't had any sense so I can't answer your question. But you've made me think that next Good Friday I should make some and see what think. :) Happy T day. Enjoy the warmth. It's not going to be all that dry this week here though.

    1. You probably didn't like the glaced fruits, like the ones used in fruitcake. I use raisins though this time around I used craisins as the Eldest isn't fond of raisins though she will eat them in baked goods. There are chance of showers the rest of the week, but the days won't be washouts.

  3. Yes, I am a fan. Unfortunately we don't have them here. Perhaps I should be brave and try to make them one day...
    Happy T-Day,

  4. I used to like hot cross buns more than I now do - perhaps the recipe has changed. I used to be a stickler for not eating them until Good Friday, but not this year.

  8. I've never had them. I've only seen them on TV and blogs. Thanks for sharing yours and your tea with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.
