The Eldest sent a gift for me for Mother's Day
Packaged beautifully. I wonder what could it be?
My own special blend of tea.
I could pick out notes of vanilla and blueberry. In a text she told me the tea was Earl Grey (my favorite blend long before Picard ordered Earl Grey, hot) and chocolate. There are chocolate nibs in the tea.
The tea steeped for 3 minutes in the kitty infuser. I wasn't sure how the blend would taste. Blueberry and vanilla go nicely together. I thought they would also blend well with the bergamot in the Earl Grey. I wasn't sure how the chocolate would mix. Surprisingly, it was delicious with a bit of sweetener and splash of cream.
Thank you, my angel. So very thoughtful of you.
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.
Lovely gift from your daughter, so thoughtful. Enjoy your own tea creation! Happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt's surprisingly good and has become my evening cuppa
DeleteThat is not only a cool blend but a great idea for a personalized gift. How does it taste? Your daughter picked out a really smart gift. And I wanted to ask you, based on your comment, what you use as a water system to get rid of you iron. We have an ancient one that used bleach. Is there anything newer that might work better? Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIt smells pretty and tastes great.
DeleteWe had an older filtration system that was an aerator system. This time around we went with Culligan, a water softener system that uses salt to backwash itself. We have always used our well water for drinking even before the filtration systems
Besides iron, the well water is also high in manganese.
DeleteLovely gift and the tea infuser is too cute-enjoy! Happy T Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love the kitty infuser. He has a companion in pink. Tea for two.
Deletesuch a unique and lovely gift! I have a tea blend that has a bit of chocolate in it and it is very good. Enjoy, and happy T day!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised how good the chocolate is. Chocolate tea is not a combination I would have thought of.
DeleteI'd never have thought of chocolate in tea. I think of chocolate more paired with coffee. This sounds interesting, and it's always a good idea to change things up a bit. What a thoughtful gift :) Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteCoffee and chocolate makes sense. Tea and chocolate was new to me.
DeleteWhat a very thoughtful gift from your eldest. That tea looks beautiful and it sounds yummy!! One of my favorite teas is with white chocolate nibs in it. Chocolate and tea is a great combination. And an adorable infuser.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
I love the color of the blueberry bits, and the tea itself is very fragrant.
DeleteWhat a thoughtful gift from the Eldest! Happy Mother's Day! (Speaking of the Eldest, has she found a new job?)
ReplyDeleteNot yet. Her spirits are still high and a friend passed along a suggestion to try veterinarians as many have their own in-house lab. Machines are the same. Normal values are different.
DeleteWow, what an amazing gift for your eldest, so very thoughtful! It sounds like a beautiful blend too, I've never heard of tea with chocolate nibs in it - yum 😉. Happy T Day! Jo x
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of it either, but I'm glad I have now.
DeleteIt was a wonderful and thoughtful gift from your eldest. It sounds delicious well, tea and chocolate, yummy.
ReplyDeletehappy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
It's surprisingly good.
DeleteWhat a thoughtful and personal gift from your daughter, CJ. I wonder how she came up with the idea of chocolate and am surprised to hear it tastes good in tea!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
She blended me. Earl Grey is my favorite tea blend. I especially like it with vanilla and foamy cream (I just shake the cream), and it's called a London Fog. My favorite color is cobalt or royal blue just like the color of the blueberries. And I love chocolate.
DeleteWonderful packaging, lovely tissue, and a tea blend created especially for you. I know it pleased you to no end, and I'm sure it made your daughter happy, too. I love the infuser, and the view from the sun room looking at your garden. Thanks for sharing this wonderful gift with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your comment about the loo. I am on a city water system and have running water and a toilet that flushes, too. In Wichita, if you own a well, you must advertise it by placing a sign in your yard. You can ONLY use it for watering your garden. You are NOT allowed to use it for drinking water.
What? Not allowed to use it for drinking water?? Not even if you have the well water tested or install a filtration system? Ugh, city water as they use too much chlorine.
DeleteWow! What a special mothers day gift, a tea named for you! So lovely, and perfect for T Day! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletethank you for stopping by
DeleteHow awesome a gift - very special! And blueberry and vanilla go GREAT together!
ReplyDeleteLove that kitty infuser, too. :-)
It really smells good, too. How's the training on your new job going?
DeleteIt is coming along okay I guess? - it will take a lot of time to be trained for all of the various job duties, regulations, etc., etc. I like it pretty good so far. Thank you for asking! Have a great week, CJ!
DeleteWhat a great gift: customized tea! I love that little angel statue holding the cat. I never saw a kitty infuser, so that made me smile. (I have a Christmas Tree infuser, but I usually use tea bags, so I rarely use it.) Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteThe angel statue is one of the Willow Tree collection called With Affection I love our friendship. It was given to me by my friend, Teague. When Ink passed away, I used a Tombow marker to paint the kitty black. I usually use teabags, but when you get a gift of loose tea, you have to use an infuser. The kitties (there's a pink companion) are made of silicone and is easy to clean.
DeleteWhat an amazing gift! She got it spot-on ordering a blend that you would (and do) like. What a daughter!
ReplyDeleteI also love your Willow Angel with a cat that happens to be in the picture. I have a few 'angels'on my bedside locker.
The tea diffuser is super cute!
Happy (belated) T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
The black cat was a Christmas gift from The Eldest.
DeleteThis is a great present from your eldest !! I´ve never take tea with chocolate, it sounds good. I have to try it :) Love your tea diffuser !! Happy belated T-day! (sorry I´m late visiting)
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice Friday,
Big hugs, Caty
I'm so glad you dropped in for a visit. You're welcome any time. Enjoy the weekend.
DeleteThat is such a lovely gift …
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
