The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Father's Day greetings for Himself and then take-out from Outback

2. Finally got around to having a consult for new exterior doors

3. After Himself used the car, he set the radio to the classical music station I like to listen to so it was already when I went to work.

4. Hazy, hot, and humid weather just the way I like it.

5. Perfect weather for a Raspberry Lime Rickey

T Stands for KC's Classic Burger Bar

Teague had an errand to run in Attleboro, but it was close to lunch time so she pulled into KC's Classic Burger Bar

It was an old-style, 1950s/early 1960s diner with a classic car theme.

It was close to Halloween so besides the letters cut from old license plates indicating the Mens Room, there was also Count Dracula.

Booth and car fins

It was a warmish day so I decided to have a vanilla shake sans whipped cream. Teague had a chocolate shake.

For lunch I built my own burger. Lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, and bacon with waffle fries as a side. The fries came with KC's Maple Bacon Mayo sauce for a different take on the fries.

The food was pretty good and our only complaint was the choice of music. Classic Doo-Wop and Early 1960s music would have added to the old-style ambiance instead of listening to artist like Elton John and Billy Joel. Though to some, I suppose that music is now considered "Oldies".

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1.  Went on a Target run with the Eldest. Was nice to have her company.

2. Due to a family emergency for Teague, Camp Newport turned into a Day Camp Newport. We visited Blythewold, had lunch at the Judge Roy Bean Saloon, and dipped our toes in the ocean at Easton Beach.

3.  When I got home from day camp, Himself had planned Tony's (take-out) for supper. No cooking for me.

4. Errands, fried clams, and a raspberry lime rickey at Harry's.

5. For my commute to teach my last class, Himself had tuned the car radio to my favorite classical music station.

Fun Facts About the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Massachusetts has an official ode titled Ode to Massachusetts , words and music by Joseph Falzone. The ode was designated in 2000.

"Ode to Massachusetts"

Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
From the Freedom Trail in Boston
To the dome on Beacon Hill
To Framingham and Worcestor
And Springfield if you will
From Concord on to Lexington
No matter where you roam
There's a not so common Commonwealth
It's the place that I call home

You are the heart of New England
Old Ironsides and Bunker Hill
Where JFK once paved the way
To the day the world stood still
Your one by land and two by sea
Helped set our country free
You can't get better Massachusetts
You'll always be sweet home to me.
No, you can't get better Massachusetts
You'll always be sweet home to me.
Freedom, Freedom, Freedom

Fun Facts About the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

This week's fun fact is that Massachusetts has an official Glee Club song.

"The Great State of Massachusetts"

Words by George A. Wells, and music by J. Earl Bley

Adopted on November 24, 1997.
"The Great State of Massachusetts", words by George A. Wells and music by J. Earl Bley, was designated by Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 2, § 43 on November 24, 1997.

I couldn't find a live version of the song or sheet music. Instead, have a listen to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Glee Club singing "Wake, Freshman, Wake" from the 2011 Alumni Weekend
