T Stands for Owen O'Leary's

I had an appointment and needed a ride so Teague kindly obliged. After the appointment we stopped for a late lunch at Owen O'Leary's.

I wasn't going to photograph lunch or use this for a T Day post, but

this fun sign for the Broomstick Inn caught my eye. I really liked the witch.

The establishment serves typical pub fare. I had a bacon cheeseburger with waffle sweet potato fries and a Coke. Teague had a disappointing Prime Dip with Au Jus.

So after photographing the witch sign I took pics of

this light which advertise an Irish Setter beer. I liked the Celtic knotwork designs

This fun balloon sculpture had the Wizard of Oz characters in the basket. Too bad for the poor lighting.

After lunch, we debated about going to Teague's house to hang out, but the weather was supposed to turn iffy with a bit of snow. I asked Teague to take me home.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Bird and tire tracks on the driveway

Little critter on the driveway

Someone going up the hill

Avalanche from the solar panels ready to fall

Bunny tracks

Snowy woods

A herd of mourning doves at the bird feeder, and the kitties missed the excitement.

Full Wolf Moon through the trees and fog

Full moon with halo

Rain, rain, and the snow went away

Bye-bye snow. Though more is on the way tonight. 😿

The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. I ordered new slippers.

2. I baked a batch of Italian anise cookies for Himself's workout buddy

3. I needed a ride to an appointment and Teague came to my rescue. After the appointment, we went out to lunch

4. Grandmaster E called and told me how she gets her pizza to have a fluffy crust.

5. Play day with Teague, Breakfast at Schultzy's place, a hole in the wall in my town. We thought maybe we would eat our way for breakfast across the state. Everyone needs a hobby

How was your week?

Oops

The other day, I showed the card I made for a colleague who just got a promotion. I asked if anyone could find the mistake in the card, but no one did. That made me feel a little better hoping she wouldn't see the mistake either.

Have you found it yet? It may be a little bit hard to see as the accolade is upside-down on the card.

Do you see it?

It's supposed to be outstanding. Hopefully, if my colleague sees it, she'll get a good laugh.

Whatcha Doin?

I'm going to make pizza and give it a second rise. I'm experimenting to see if the pizza turns out as fluffy as the one Grandmaster E makes.

T Stands for Christmas at the Wayside Inn - Part 2

Back to the Wayside Inn to looks at the Christmas decorations and antiques in the Inn's museum on the second floor.

Beautiful needlework bed curtains and a quilt

Christmas tree in the large function room

Decorated settle

framed cross-stitched Santa

Snow people for Divers and Sundry

Antique desk

Around the room memorabilia along with the history of the Inn when Henry T Ford owned the property. One story, he had started a school for boys during the Depression. One graduate from the Class of 1938 recounted how the first day he arrived, he was assigned to pick potato bugs from potato plants. He wasn't having any of that so he began walking down the Post Rd. He got a mile or so away and then thought about the foster family he would have to return to. He said he turned around and went back to the school and he was glad he did.

One surprising fact was the December 1955 fire which destroyed the 2nd floor of the Inn along with hundreds of thousand of dollars of antiques.

My drink reference, the pretty, little tea cup on the antique desk.

The entry way from the front door

Tower of gifts. I liked the Christmas tree shadow on the wall.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

First and last sighting of a bluebird.

A snowstorm that left us with 3 inches of snow followed by rain which turned everything into a sheet of ice.

The gnomes seem happy

and Erich doesn't seem to be bothered by the ice and snow.

I refilled the front and back bird feeders

Seems the ice is holding the greenhouse panels in place

Snowbirds foraging in the bushes under the window

caught Calli's attention. Isn't her little, snowball head so cute?
