Thanks for reminding me that it is the solstice. I still have the 21st sick in my brain add the right date, although I think it will fall on the 20th for the teddy of my life.
I don't know if it's regional. Here in New England, the story goes Native Americans named the full moons through the year based on harvest/nature cycles. The full moon in June is called the Strawberry Moon because that is the crop that is ready to be harvested.
