1. I finished up the Christmas card list. Good thing the holiday season goes until January 6.
2. Out of the blue I got a phone call from Prissy's daughter. She sends a Christmas card every year, but I haven't heard from her in the 9 years since Prissy passed away. We had a nice chat.
3. Grandmaster E. sent a tin of her Italian cookies.
4. After the Feast of the One Fish (Shrimp Scampi) we watched The Bishop's Wife (1947)
5. We spent a leisurely Christmas Day
How was your week?

9 years is a long time! We just found out we caught another cold - yippee. It´s frickin´ cold and no snow! Aw, well - Merry Christmas anyways :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry to hear you and Ingo are feeling under the weather.
DeleteMy week was fine, thank you, as you have read in my blog.
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmassy display. And the beautiful feline in the background. I have one on my lap and i have to type with one hand.
i've not seen The Bishop's Wife. Is it good?
Happy Holidays,
lisca
The feline is Calli. She's not supposed to be on the table and she posed for me as I took her picture. The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant, David Niven, and Loretta Young is a wonderful, holiday film. For us, it's not Christmas unless we see it.
DeleteWe watched it with you! 😂😂😂
ReplyDelete💙It's not Christmas until we see it. Especially the scene where Dudley decorates the Christmas tree and all the tinsel gracefully cascades. Our first Christmas we had an argument about festively tossed or meticulously draped. Now the scene has me saying "Shut up"
DeleteLOL We had the same 'discussion' on our first Christmas. It was the last year the tree had tinsel!
DeleteUs, too! For a time was had a silver bead garland. Then on a visit to Old Sturbridge Village, the tinsmith made twisted "icicles" out of tin. I bought 3 dozen from the gift shop.
DeleteI love that Calli decided to be part of your Christmas scene
ReplyDeleteI loved it, too. She's in the Living Nativity.
DeleteSounds both lovely and peaceful. Happy Holidays
ReplyDeleteVery quiet, no stress.
DeleteA leisurely Christmas Day sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI had a lovely day with family enjoying good food, good fun and plenty of love and laughter :)
Enjoy the coming weekend.
All the best Jan
Sounds like you had a perfect Christmas, Jan
DeleteIt sounds like a wonderful week and a great Christmas. I love the Bishop's Wife. It's a really good film. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't get Christmas cards out before Christmas. I hope you're not going to get lots snow tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe got about 3 inches?
DeleteNothing like a leisurely Christmas to relax and unwind. Glad you had a good week! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my Lady. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, too
DeleteNice week!
ReplyDeleteNice and slow
DeleteSounds like a great week.
ReplyDeleteThe only downside was I didn't get my weekly visit with Teague and lunch out. A repeat of that this week, too.
