I´m mad at my Dad right now. I was "not bad" at the piano - he forced me to and I was really not bad, but I had "my rhythm". Mom loved it. Dad bought a metronome, so I play "correct". I gave up. Now I´m too old and the Steinweg rots away in my parents house.
You are never too old to play. In my early 20s when everyone else was buying their first car, I bought a piano and took piano lessons. I wasn't good, but it was for my own enjoyment. You can always rescue the Steinweg.
My life would end too soon, the neighbors would kill me ;-) I can hear them when they laugh out loud, so a real piano would be no good idea. Ingo bought me a keyboard you can play with headphones on. I cannot read notes anymore and my fingers are kinda stiff. Maybe when I retire...
He may have too much time on his hands, but he sure made that song interesting to listen to all those different styles.
ReplyDeleteFür Elise is one of my favorite pieces of music
DeleteThat's clever - I shall have to try some of these.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the Ragtime and 50s Doo-Wop
