Winter Predictors

Ink and I are trying to figure out if the squirrels and Timex, the chipmunk, are more active than usual. The squirrels have been busy gathering acorns and Timex is running around with his cheeks bulging with seeds. Supposedly, increased rodentia activity during the Fall is an indication of a snowier than normal Winter. Guess we'll just have to wait until May to figure out if that's true or not.

  1. How are the squirrel’s tails? Grandma always said if they were big and bushy it was going to be a snowy winter. (And they knew snow in upstate NY!)

    1. When I want a squirrel around, there's none to be seen. Hard to tell from the pic of the squirrel Ink was watching. Bushy tail, but can't tell if it's bushier. And upstate NY sure knows snow. One of my uncles lived in Buffalo. He used to send pics of kids waiting for the school bus and the kids were standing on telephone booths because the snow was so high
