T Stands for I Scream, You Scream

One of the things I wanted on our trip to Ogunquit was ice cream. I'm not a big fan of ice cream. It's a seasonal dessert for me to be eat on warm or hot Summer days/nights.

The weather wasn't cooperating when we went away, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to get a Chocolate Almond Joy named after the coconut candy bar. Besides, Big Daddy's ice cream was just around the corner from where we were staying.

We had a late lunch/dinner so around 8 PM, seemed to be a good time to go get ice cream. It was raining so how many people would be out getting ice cream? Seemed like the entire town of Ogunquit went out for ice cream. We got the last parking spot, but the line for ice cream was out the building. The covered porch with old-fashioned ice cream parlor tables and chairs was filled, too.

We decided to try another ice cream stand a little further down the road. The Scoop Deck. Their parking lot was filled, too.

So we ended up with our backup plan. We headed to the local grocery store and bought sundae cups. While in line at the register, I saw the candy selection included and Almond Joy which I broke up to include in my sundae. I also had ice tea.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. Ice cream is always popular. It's a warm weather dessert for me too but I could eat a lot of it. :) Looks like you also got an Almond Joy bar too so the back up plan worked! Happy T day.

    1. When Teague and I go out for ice cream on Thursdays, we usually go to the DQ near her house. Rain, rain, go away. Texas has gotten more than it's fair share.

  4. It appears rain doesn't keep others away from the popular ice cream spots. Your back up plan worked and I suspect you even saved a bit of money by creating your own. I eat ice cream even in winter, so it's not as special to me as it is to you. Thanks for sharing this special adventure and your iced tea with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

  5. We all scream for ice cream - yum! It looks like you made the perfect ice cream sundae too 😊. We live by the sea, so ice cream is a must and we have a couple of ice cream shops near by - yay! Happy 12th Anniversary T Day ❤️. Hugs, Jo x

  9. Ice cream – or IScream 😅 – must be really popular in Ogunquit! Or maybe the local ice cream shops are simply that good – who knows?
Either way, I’m glad you found a great alternative at the grocery store. Sundae cups topped with Almond Joy sound absolutely delicious – and who’s to say the ice cream shop could’ve topped that? 😋😊
I’m happy to raise my water glass with your ice tea 🧊🍹!
And thank you so much for the good wishes for our Chiller. Yes, cats and vet visits… not a match made in heaven 😬. Ours never loved the carrier or the car either – but none of them ever complained as dramatically as Chiller did 😉
Much love and a happy (belated) T-Day!

  10. Almond Joy ice cream looks fab. I don't know the brand but I assume it tastes of almonds. What a shame that there were such long queues. Your creations looks good to eat.

  11. I love Almond Joy, one of my favorite candy bars of all time. Your back up plan with the sundae and broken almond joy sounds lovely. Like others, I am now desiring it! Happy belated T day.
