The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Last month, I applied for the  old people's parking pass to Massachusetts state parks. The pass is for people 60 and over, costs a one time fee of $10, and is good for life! I think they figure us Weebles aren't going to last long.

2. I made giambotta, an Italian vegetable stew, with veggies from the garden.

3. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with Chinese food take-out and hanging out in the sunroom.

4. I Skyped  Microsoft Teamed with the Young One

5.  I received some Happy Mail

How was your week?

  1. Such a heartwarming week! A lifetime state park pass is such a win, and garden-fresh giambotta sounds delicious. Forty years of love celebrated with sunshine and takeout feels perfect. Connecting with loved ones online and receiving happy mail just top it off simple joys really do shine brightest.

Happy your 40th wedding anniversary. Happy Forever

  2. Happy belated 40th. I like how you elebrate! Here in NH once you hit 65 you can get into state parks for free, but I still have a state park plate from before and it helps support the parks. It costs me more than $10 per year to have. Sounds like a good week. Mine too, though nothing majorly exciting happened. Have a great FRiday.

  3. Congratulations on your Ruby anniversary. Are those your hands in the photograph?
I found Teams mystifying - didn't use it often enough, I suppose.

    1. I wish Microsoft had left Skype alone. Yes, those are our hands on our wedding day. The picture was taken in front of our "fake" cake with the Teddy Bear cake toppers. Ma sewed a hand-beaded! bridal gown and a tuxedo. Dad found a little top hat for the groom.

  5. HAPPY 40th to you both!! The part about the "Weebles" made me laugh. I actually am old enough to remember "weebles" toy family and the saying was that "Weebles wabble, but they don't fall down." Hmmmm. I do on occassion. lol

    1. The cake was provided by the venue where the reception was held. It was a fake plaster of Paris cake! Each of the function rooms had one that went with the decor of the room. The real cake was made in large sheet pans, then cut, and put in plastic boxes for the guests to take home.

    2. The bride and groom provided their own cake topper.
