Teague and I were looking for a new to us place to eat. She suggested P.J's at the Miss Mendon Diner. The Miss Mendon diner had been popular place but closed after Covid. P.J's another local eatery bought the diner and brought it back to life.
I'm having my usual iced tea and patiently waiting for the waitress to bring me a slice of lemon. While waiting, Teague and I chatted and listened to the tunes from the 50's and 60's.
The diner serves breakfast all day, but I opted for The Cape Codder, "Crispy haddock, American cheese, cheddar cheese, tartar sauce, coleslaw and onion rings on a potato roll" along with a side of Tater Tots. The sandwich was delicious though messy as instead of serving the coleslaw on the side, it was served on top of the fish.
A look inside the remodeled dining car
I was so tempted to take Little Frank home with me.
On the way out, we stopped at the bakery case inside the restaurant foyer. I got a piece of Dutch Apple Pie and Teague got a Marshmallow and Caramel Cream Whoopie Pie to take back to her house for afternoon tea.
We were too busy talking and eating that I forgot to take pictures.
On the way out, I did take some pictures
of the fun
kitsch.
