Last week, I was preparing my journal so I could participate in the Inktober 2021 challenge. Then my friend, Andy, mentioned on his blog another challenge that ran during the month of October, Fright-Fall 2021 sponsored by Retro-Supplies
Inktober usually has prompts generated by a random word generator. So the list may have more concepts for drawing like pressure rather than something concrete like moon.
The prompts on the Fright-Fall list are seasonal for Halloween. Cool! And fun to be celebrating my favorite holiday. Retro-Supplies was also doing a contest where you could win an iPad or Apple pencils.
But now I was torn. Which challenge to do? This would be the fourth year I would participate in Inktober, but I liked the challenge prompts from Fright-Fall, too. What to do?
Inktober is a challenge to oneself and even thought Fright-Fall was offering prizes you didn't need to enter to win in order to participate.
Over "coffee" (the term used to describe a break from work whether or not one drinks coffee or another beverage, in my case, tea.) my studio assistant, Ben Dover, said, "Why do you have to pick one challenge?
"Because, I'm not sure I can keep up with one challenge let alone trying to do two challenges."
"Why can't you combine them and do both?"
Light bulb! Ben Dover is so brilliant. So that's what I'm doing. Combining the prompts from both lists.
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.
He's a wise guy, your Ben. I bet he doesn't live up to his name. Good luck with the challenges.

Ben Dover is a wise guy, that's for sure 🎃
DeleteBen Dover is right! I'm trying to combine several challenges this month, too, not easy but somehow fun. Enjoy! Happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteAnd then you don't have to try to pick which challenge will be the most fun
DeleteI love your ghost mug. And thanks for the link to the Fright challenge. (I can use the prompts, even if I don't enter it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't official enter Fright-Fall. I'm just using the prompts
DeleteGood morning, Have fun with the challenges and great idea to combine the two. I Love your mug too Happy T Kathy
ReplyDeletethanks
DeleteSo fabulous! I can't wait to see what you create and it's a great idea to combine the two challenge, so much fun 😁. Enjoy and Happy T Day! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteYou'll get a chance to see some of the challenges on Thursday of this week.
DeleteBen is brilliant. I hope you will be able to share these n your blog too, because I am not on Instagram. Turns out you need a cell phone to even get to look on Instagram!
ReplyDeleteI like your ghost mug, but it looks like Ben has his own mug for tea, too. Thanks for sharing these two challenges and your tea with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.
You don't need a cellphone to use Instagram. I edit and upload my photos to Instagram using my PC. There's a bit of a workaround to do it, but it's very easy. Yes, Ben has his own mug. I think it might have been from dollhouse things when the girlies were little.
Deletealways added fun to combine more than one challenge- so long as it's fun! Enjoy, and happy T day!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm enjoying the two challenge combination
Deleteooo! I love your ghost mug!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to combine the challenges. Happy T Tuesday
The ghost mug was a prize the Eldest won when she worked for the catalog company. It got left behind when she moved. It's chipped on the handle so can't go through the microwave, but works just fine for tea via the Keurig.
DeleteBen is obviously a genius! ;)
ReplyDeleteHe thinks so. 🎃
DeleteI just looked at the challenge subjects and i see what you mean by concepts etc. Well, good old Ben. He hit the nail on the head! Just do a combination of both.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see what you come up with.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
As Mae pointed out, Ben is a wise guy 🎃
DeleteSounds like all kinds of fun. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good.

DeleteI'm glad you have such a good companion to talk these things out with. Sometimes that's what it take. Did you get any sun today. It ended up being beautiful here. I hope it was a great T day. I'm behind on my posting today. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIt pretty much rained here all day. If the sun did come out, it was just before sunset.
DeleteOh, you have such a doll, too :-) Mine has a cuppa, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat, clever, helping colleague, lucky you!
Happy belated T-Day.
A he doll to your she doll.
DeleteI think combining the two challenges are a great idea by Ben, I always feel quietly pleased if I ever manage to do it, not often it happens!
