The Friday Five

A couple of weeks ago, we took a trip to the Museum of Science. Since we were there late in the day and most of the families with young children had left, we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The Young One and I climbed into the mock up of the Apollo capsule. Lying on the astronaut's couch it laughingly became apparent that there are some jobs where height does matter.

1. I couldn't have been an Apollo astronaut as I couldn't reach the control panel. I'd have to have a hand on a stick to be able to push the buttons and flip the switches.

2. I can't be an airline flight attendant. I can't reach the overhead bins. I'd have to press some tall person into service to put things in the bins and check to make sure the bins are closed.

3. I can't be a model. Besides not having a waif figure, the hems would drag down the runway.

4. I couldn't drive an 18 wheeler unless blocks were put on the gas and brake pedals.

5. I would never be able to win the tip off in a basketball game.

Are there any jobs you wouldn't be able to do because of a restriction?

  1. This is great!

I couldn't be a mountain climbing guide because I get claustrophobic in the mountains.

  2. There are many jobs I couldn’t do mostly because I have no talent for them, LOL. But one that comes up on a regular basis as Husband and I watch the National Geographic channel is….I could NEVER be a spelunker! There is no way in hell you could EVER get me into a cave! Or any tight space for that matter!
