Bliss

It's that time of year again, a favorite time of mine. Black jelly beans are in season. And joy that black jelly bean manufacturers fill entire bags with the licorice delights. No longer do black jelly bean connoisseurs have to wade through several bags of jelly beans harvesting the black ones. Life is good.

Six years ago, my friend, Andy Fish blogged about a treat he had while on a trip to Japan. Dark chocolate and licorice together. Brilliant. Two delicious tastes together. Andy recreated the sensation by combining Snow Caps and Good n' Plenty which can be found any time of the year. (Well, the Snow Caps aren't always easy to find). For a festive flair black jelly beans and semi-sweet chocolate chips (until I can pick up a bag of chocolate eggs) are on the menu. Bliss.

    1. Another thing we have in common. Now try the licorice with chocolate. It's supposed to be dark chocolate, but I prefer milk. And now as there's no decent chocolate in the house, I'm using semi-sweet chocolate chips

  2. I had forgotten how much fun black jelly beans are. I have looked for Good n' Plenty and haven't seen any for awhile. I actually DO remember the Snow Caps, or I think I do. Haven't seen those in years, either. Thanks for making me hungry!!!

  3. I've got to find these black only jelly bean bags. I love the black ones. Last summer I went to Iceland and licorice is their candy of choice. Including it with chocolate-YUMMY! Oh yes, you asked about using alcohol inks on tyvek- Paint tends to bead up when I tried it, but maybe it was my paints. We had lots of snow melt today. Happy new week. And enjoy those black jellybeans. hugs-Erika
