How Does Your Garden Grow?

Walk, the Stinkbug, looking like a gigantic monster on the outside of the kitchen window.

The hydrangea bush starting to bloom

A surprise Hollyhock. Before Ink, there was Mitty. The hollyhocks were Mitty's favorite place to hang out. The large leaves gave him a shady and safe hidey-hole. It was cool by the foundation of the house, too.

Nasturtiums

We have blueberries! We might get 3 each!

  1. Yours looks wonderful. Here the "bee-flowers" are in bloom, but they grew tall, not "full". The lavender seems to have had it, but the lucky bean Ingo gave me grows like crazy.

  2. I see blueberries. Hurrah. And your garden is looking super CJ. Since batch #2 of babies fledged, I haven't seen a single bluebird around. Even the meal worm amount isn't going down in the feeder. Hurrah that you got a photo of one. I hope yours hang around. Have a great Sunday. It's cloudy here right now.

    1. Samwise can't handle tall grass. Because we participated in No Mow May, Himself had to ask a young man to come and mow the lawn for us before Samwise could take over

  4. The bluebird is so pretty. Our blueberries were a great disappointment again this year - not enough water, I think.

  5. Your garden is absolutely charming! I love how it’s full of surprises bluebirds, hollyhocks, and even a lone turkey! The flowers are blooming beautifully, and it’s so sweet to see the memories of Mitty live on.

    1. Yes, I was happy to see the hollyhock that reminds me of Mitty. He was the sweetest cat that has owned me.

    1. The white hydrangeas are a different variety. Color can be changed on pink or blue hydrangeas due to the soil. Acidic soil produces blue hydrangeas and alkaline soil produces pink. Because of pine trees and oak, the soil here is very acidic.

    3. I'm no gardener, but I think you would have to amend the soil with organic matter like compost, leaves, grass clippings. Too much work for me that's why I'm not the gardener. Headbutts to Mack.
