How Does Your Garden Grow?

So much for the 70° F. weather we enjoyed. It's back to Winter for us. Oh, look! The month and the first numeral of the date is a 42! I haven't posted 42s in a long time.

This week, it's all about the Visitor we had.

Can you see him/her? S/he's camouflaged pretty well. Look on the bottom branch

Here's a better shot. It's a Cooper's Hawk (I think)

Cooper Oakensitter has spent the afternoons flying to his/her bottom branch of the oak tree, flying down to the ground and to another tree in the woods before flying off.

The Eldest planted some Sweet Williams (Dianthus). They can grow pretty tall so I hope they have enough room

42 showed up again in the time and the date is a 42 palindrome

  1. Super visitor. We have an occasional sparrowhawk, but red kites fly over all the time, wheeling and squealing.

    1. I've seen the redtail hawks flying overhead. This is the second or so year this hawk has visited the yard

  4. I'm sitting here taking a break a from mowing... weeds and grass are growing ... welll.... like weeds... lol uuugh.. Suppose to be 97F tomorrow... noooo... so not ready for those kind of tems... by Wed we are suppose to drop 20F degrees ... nights in the 40's and 50's for a couple days.. YES! i may get to throw a sweatshirt on for a day or two.. :) happy camper.. I've never planted Sweet William... curious to see how they grow for you.. I have planted Dianthus... are they in the same family i wonder.. Dianthus is beautiful when its in its glory but the dead blooms don't just fall off.. at least not in my experience... so it can look a little ratty when not dead headed.. Hugs! deb

  6. It didn't feel like April most of last week. It felt more like March. Hopefully it's warming back up. And that's cool you have a new neighbor. Have you seen him/her closer up? Have a great tart to the new week.
