"A" did a great job of trimming down the snowball bushes.

How does your garden grow?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it's not quite as hot and dry in your garden as it is in ours. We're currently experiencing a heat wave/drought unlike anything we've ever seen. Temperatures have been between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius for weeks, and there's never been any rain, as if we lived somewhere in the south. But we don't – this is Central Europe. Our irrigation system was broken for a while, and I had to water everything by hand. It's working again now, but some things are beyond saving... Well, although many people claim there's no climate change 🥵, we'll still have to learn to live with these challenges...
All the best from Austria 🤗

Our weather has been very hot and humid. Some areas have temps. in the 90s but the feel like temp is over 100. We are in a drought in New England, but have had a few days with tropical downpours which helps.
DeleteI think A needs to come and do some trimming in my yard. Yours is looking great. It's that August jungle time, when everything has just sprung to maximum size and beauty. It's been great weather too, hasn't it? (Although a tad bit too humid for me, but I'm sure you love it.)
ReplyDeleteI have been loving the weather.
DeleteI love the random moss rose blooms. Every year a tulip or crocus pops up in the middle of my yard as a result of a squirrel's autumn bulb relocation project :)
ReplyDeleteBulb Relocation Project 🤣There are some daffodils in the yard that are in that project, too.
DeleteThe goldfinches must be happy! 😄
ReplyDeleteThey are ecstatic and very yellow. Sunflower are to goldfinches as shrimp are to flamingoes.
DeleteWow the trimming job is excellent! I love seeing all the beauty in your garden. Have a nice Sunday.
ReplyDelete"A" is an amazing kid. The bushes actually look like snowball bushes instead of an avalanche
Deletefor some reason the phlox is fried this year.....too hot...too much smoke ???? it's sad :(
ReplyDeleteThat is sad. Phlox are very pretty. Ma had pink and white ones in her garden
DeleteGreat job by 'A' on the trimming.
ReplyDeleteThe garden here is so parched we are in drought conditions!
All the best Jan
We're in a drought too. Himself collects water in a rain barrel when it rains. We got some downpours last week. He also uses the water from the dehumidifier to water the plants.
DeleteI wish you a nice Monday, I miss the translator :))
ReplyDeleteMislil sem, da Google prevaja samodejno. Na vrh desne stranske vrstice sem dodal pripomoček za prevajanje.
DeleteTrimmed my SunFlowers today... I so enjoy that.. reminds me of trimming up roses... SunFlowers are my Texas Roses..lol So drought tolerant and hardy.. The bees were buzzing around me big fuzzy bumbles... It was a delightful morning.. Volunteer Moss Roses... how nice! My Mother in Laws kettle over flows with them... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteWhen I see sunflowers, I'll think of you and Texas Roses. Everything's bigger in Texas 😊
Delete:)
DeleteThe moss roses are so pretty - and free! It's such a shame about the sunflower, but I'm sure the petals were good for the goldfinches. 😉
ReplyDeleteYes, it helps keep their brilliant color
Deletep.s. I just found this:
ReplyDeleteWhy Goldfinches Target SunflowersAccessing Seeds: Plucking away petals allows the birds to reach and inspect the unripe, milkier seeds nestled at the base.Nutritional Pigments: Yellow petals contain antioxidants and carotenoids that enhance the vibrant yellow feathers male goldfinches need for mating.Easier Feeding: Unripe green seeds are softer and packed with vital fats and proteins compared to hard, mature seeds.
Leave it to you! I love the fun fact. Thank you!
