The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Found a calligraphic brush to use with Procreate on the iPad. Thinking of using the iPad for my demo in class instead of working on the chalkboard.

2. Got a text from the Eldest she wouldn't be able to do our weekly Skype because she was going to a friend's house to watch the Super Bowl. While I was sad I wouldn't be catching up with her, I was happy she seems to be settling in her new home and making friends.

3. Found a device for the basement that acts as a dehumidifier and purifies the air.  It doesn't need to be emptied either.

4. After 2 hour wait for paper work, we finally got to take the new car home.

5. I thought I lost my TARDIS and 10th Doctor car charms. I found them in a bag of trash when I cleaned out my car.

How was your week?

  1. Aside from the fact you didn't get to skype with your daughter, it sounds like a fabulous week, including checking your trash bag before you pitched it!!!

    1. I knew I had taken everything out of the car. After searching high and low, the only place to look was in the trash.

  2. Congrats on the new car and actually having it now. Your own tardis. Too bad you can't literally travel through time with it but you can travel from place to place. :) I am curious about this dehumidifier you don't have to empty. I need one of those. Hugs-Erika

    1. Wouldn't it be cool to have a real TARDIS?

Check out the Wave Ventilation System. We got the basement unit: https://www.wavehomesolutions.com/wave-whole-house-ventilation-systems/

  5. What an exciting week with your new car - enjoy! I'm glad you found your TARDIS and Dr. Who charms 😁. I think you would like the Blackpool Illuminations held later in the year as they always have a full size TARDIS and daleks on display 😉. Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊 x

    1. I started the Friday Five Good Things in 2014. A Facebook friend had posted she was keeping a good things jar. She'd write a good thing that happened each day and then on New Year's Eve she'd look over all the good things that happened through the year. I was dealing with elderly parents and getting bogged down. So this was a good way to turn things around.

  7. Good wek all around! (we got the new couch!) YAY for both of us!

  8. We had to quit using our dehumidifier :( Too noisy, too hot, and it had to be emptied every few hours. We did research it, but this purchase was a bust. I'm glad you found such a good one :)

    1. The dehumidifier we had was the same way. Very noisy and during the Summer had to be emptied often. Our issue was mold which we had removed. This unit not only acts as a dehumidifier, but purifies the air so mold won't grow back

  9. so I think Tardis has to do with Dr. Who - or ..maybe not...but nice that you found them. I saw where you said you were dealing with elderly parents. In a way, good or bad, my parents both passed away before I had to deal with them being way too elderly.

    1. The TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space) is the Doctor’s time space ship. He cantravel through space and time.

  11. I just saw your remark to Erika. I went to the site and sent the information to Scott. I'll see what he thinks, since I don't have a cell phone to aid in process if there is trouble (yes, I read you don't have to download the app).
