I'm taking a 6 month journal workshop called The Empty Page with Lindsay Ostram. It's an approach to get over the fear of staring at a blank page and not knowing what to do. In a live video class, Lindsay steps us through projects with suggestions for tools and how to make your own journal fodder.
Above is the February homework page. Lindsay sent her artwork to be traced, colored with water colors, and doodled.
On the opposite page is a companion piece, a work in progress. "Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." - Marcel Proust

I really like your unfinished page. I hope you share it when it's finished. And I even like the teacher's page too. That was interesting homework, but tracing can be really useful. I do it when I'm worried I can't draw something very well. I don't think we're going to o get any snow tonight as I live north of the snow line, but they changed it yesterday so who knows if they'll change it again. I hope the snow line goes really south, like Long Island. :) Then you wouldn't get any snow either.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what's happening weather-wise. Weather service saying 2 -4 in. and local weather dudette saying 1 - 3 in. I would rather all the storms coming would just go out to sea.
