A Coke for Himself and an unsweetened ice tea with lemon for me.
Industrial chic decor. The ceilings were so high we both said we wouldn't like to see the heating bill in the Winter.
We started with a Stuffed Zucchini appetizer. Stuff with gorgonzola cheese. I'm not a big fan of cheese, but the rest of the dish was excellent.
A beautiful presentation of Salmon Romesco for Him and Crab Cakes with a Dill and Mustard Aioli for me. I swapped Sweet Potato fries for the regular French Fries
We decided to split dessert. Chocolate Cake with a Raspberry Coulis. I also ordered a cup of tea. I had a hard time choosing a blend. There was a Lavender Earl Grey which sounded tempting, but I decided on a good old standby.
English Breakfast Tea with Half n Half, and Truvia (Stevia)
Though the food was excellent, we decided the prices were a bit on the steep side for a run of the mill out and about lunch stop. However, we decided we would go back for a special occasion.

Oh yum, looks so good☺
ReplyDeleteIt was, especially the cake 😋
DeleteThat looks really yummy! I've never had cheese stuffed zucchini, but it sounds delicious. And I have to say your dessert really made my mouth water! Where is Burtons? If I go visit mom with the hubby or my daughter we look for places to go eat. Happy fall, or maybe not what you want to hear-smile. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteBurtons is in Shrewsbury behind where Spag's used to be. There's a Whole Foods there and then behind that a mall. I think they call it Lake Way Commons. The food is excellent. And they also have a Gluten Sensitive menu
DeleteYou had some yummy food and drinks, but sorry it was expensive. Happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt will be a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
DeleteAlways fun to explore new places. Your dishes both look delicious! I love lavender in tea
ReplyDeleteHappy T wishes Kathy
I haven't tried lavender in tea. I'll have to be on the look out for it
DeleteYou haven't had REAL crab cakes until you've had them in Maryland....but glad you enjoyed your meal. :D
ReplyDeleteThis is as close to Maryland as we're going to get 😺
DeleteIt looks like something I'd pick and want to go back to. I do wish prices weren't so high, but around here even a casual burger at an actual restaurant starts at $10 or so. Your dessert would make it worth the price, though. Wow! Gorgeous! Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteThe dessert was totally worth the price of admission 😺
DeleteI hope you'll share photos of your piece at the the WAM Faculty art show, CJ.
ReplyDeleteThe restaurant looks nice and your hubby's salmon Romesco is calling me.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
I hope I can get a nice picture at the opening reception sometime in the middle of October.
DeleteThe salmon was delicious. I had a little taste.
Well first off ...i got a little bit excited when I saw those drinks on the table - ...I thought at first it was a Long Island Ice Tea which it has been ages since I had one - but now I'm thinking I need to get out of here and go to a bar and listen to some country music and sip on a tea. I need to go back in your posts to see what you are entering in the art thing.
ReplyDeleteI had a funny incident when ordering a Long Island ice tea for the very first time 😺
DeleteLook at the 3rd widget in the right-hand side bar. The House Blessing is going into the WAM Faculty Art Show.
oh I see it - really nice work~!
DeleteI've had a few funny incidences while drinking Long Island Ice Teas.
I am drooling over all those delicious looking and sounding dishes that you shared. That stuffed zucchini sounds very good. Sometimes it is nice to have a place to go on special occasions.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
I think it's nice to have a special place in reserve to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or another occasion.
DeleteWow, that looks like a fabulous place to eat! Surprisingly ...lol 😉... I would eat all of your meal choices, the stuffed zucchini then the crab cakes with sweet potato fries (my favourite) and chocolate cake to finish - I'm in heaven ...lol 😀. Wishing you a very happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteI love sweet potato fries. These were perfectly done. Nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The cake was a slice of Heaven. 😋
DeleteI'll never complain about prices of food in Kansas after seeing what you paid for your two lunches. And I didn't even FIND the dessert menu, which was good, because what you had was already $73.50 (USD) without tax. And to think I complained for having to pay around $13.00 at Cracker Barrel, a run of the mill chain I stopped at on my way home from Museum Day. Not sure the ambiance was worth it, but I am sure you two had a nice day out together which more than made up for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your experience at Burtons, your tea, both iced and hot, and your husband's coke with us for T this Tuesday.
Living on either coast is way more expensive than living in the flat lands. You get more bang for your buck. 😊
DeleteThe food and dessert looked good. I like your tea choice. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of sweet tea? Neither am I. 😉
DeleteYour food did look delicious and I am sure we would have had a larger bill in the UK. I liked your choice of tea,I think I would have passed the half and half with that blend.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
But the cream and bergamot is a bit like an orange creamsical 😋
DeleteCrabs are all around :-)
ReplyDeleteI sadly don´t like seafood much, I´d rather take a CRABBS - happy day to you!
😺 Good one!
DeleteIt all looks good. I would have had a difficult time choosing. With appetizer and dessert and beverages, it was probably pricey. We are so frugal ( a nice word for cheap) that we don't get appetizers, beverages or dessert when we dine out. That is why we love cruising, all that comes with the cruise! We may be done with cruising however as it all has gotten too expensive, plus the flights are outrageous now to get to the ship. So, all that said, I guess instead of cruising, we shall start being more extravagant when we dine out! LOL I didn't mean to get so long winded!
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day.
There are times we splurge and times we don’t. We are also thinking about a cruise. As you said, maybe it’s cheaper to go out to eat. Thanks for your comment
DeleteNow that looks really yummy. I would probably have chosen hubby's salmon. The desert looks very tempting (My kingdom for a piece of chocolate).
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I am late in commenting. We've been away camping on the coast and there was no wifi on the campsite.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
No worries. Always happy when you can drop by
DeleteFood does look good.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Delicious and beautifully plated
