T Stands for Breakfast and Art Supplies
In mid-September be took a ride to the cemetery to visit my parents. On the way home, we usually stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I was also looking forward to poking around their gift shop for Halloween decorations.
Imagine my surprise when I saw all the Christmas things out!
The first thing I asked for was a cup of tea. They have new mugs which I didn't really like as they are quite heavy.
Silverware was packaged in a narrow paper bag.
The paper bag is the perfect size to make a Weathergram. I was tickled to think you get art supplies along with your meal.
I had scrambled eggs with bacon and Stuffed Cheesecake Pancakes with strawberries and
a side of grits.
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

Calli and Quill's DNA Results
After seeing the picture of the Turkish Van cat that looked like Quill and the fact that at a year and a half old he already weighs 13 pounds, I decided to see about having a DNA test done. I wanted to be assured he was just a big boy and not overeating. The rescue lady had said he was going to be a big boy.
A friend had her dog's DNA tested through Wisdom Panel and because of her experience, I decided to go with this company, too.
The Young One helped me wrestle the cats so we could collect saliva on a swab. The cats weren't happy about the experience though a treat afterwards helped.
The DNA results take 2 to 3 weeks and what a surprise.
Quill's Results
Western
12 % Norwegian Forest Cat. ( a big breed!)
Persian
7% British Shorthair (another big breed)
While Quill didn't have the Turkish Van breed in him, he did have the gene for the von coloring .
Calli's results were more surprising. The vet had said he thought she might have some exotic mix in her.
Western
52 % American Domestic Cat
11% Norwegian Forest Cat ( But she's so dainty!)
7% LaPerm (This makes me think of the WB cartoon cat that Pepe LePew's had a crush on. Les Mew, Les Purr)
4% Maine Coon (another large breed!)
2% European Domestic Cat
Persian
13% Persian
4% Scottish Fold
Siamese and Oriental
5% Oriental Longhair (This must be where she gets her voice. She's very vocal)
Asian
2% Khaomanee (This must be the exotic)
What their parents may have been.
Quill
Parent 1 American Domestic Cat
Parent 2 British Shorthair, Scottish Fold, European Domestic Cat, Norwegian Forest Cat
Calli
Parent 1 American Domestic Cat, La Perm Mix
Parent 2 American Domestic Cat, Persian, Norwegian Forest Cat.
So, they aren't litter mates, but were fostered together.

How Does Your Garden Grow?
Mums
After the rain, some leaves left imprints on the walk
A sigh to make the Leaf Lady clutch her pearls
Nothing like relaxing at home and putting your feet up
Some friends join the Ink o'lantern which stays in the porch year round.
Mr. Jellybones
This stays in the front porch year round, too
Morning glories hanging on up by the woods. Okay, maybe they are weeds, but I still think they are pretty.
One last hurrah from the clematis
Calli enjoys watching the leaves fall
How does your garden grow?

The Friday Five Good Things
1. Enjoyed a nice thank you lunch at Point Breeze with Himself's teaching assistants
2. Himself's college roommate and his wife ran a half marathon over the weekend in Rhinebeck, NY. We met them for lunch at The 51 Park Restaurant in Lee, Massachusetts. Good food, lots of laughs
3. While driving through the Berkshires and admiring the foliage, we saw a bald eagle
4. I had a funny dream about my Ma. I was in a crowded place when I heard my name to "come over here". I saw her in her Persian lamb fur coat, but she was only 2 feet tall like a little doll. So very cute.
5. The operating system wouldn't update so had to do a reinstall and lost some accounting files. Tech support helped me get back on track.
