T Stands for Breakfast and Art Supplies

In mid-September be took a ride to the cemetery to visit my parents. On the way home, we usually stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I was also looking forward to poking around their gift shop for Halloween decorations.

Imagine my surprise when I saw all the Christmas things out!

The first thing I asked for was a cup of tea. They have new mugs which I didn't really like as they are quite heavy.

Silverware was packaged in a narrow paper bag.

The paper bag is the perfect size to make a Weathergram. I was tickled to think you get art supplies along with your meal.

I had scrambled eggs with bacon and Stuffed Cheesecake Pancakes with strawberries and

a side of grits.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. This year I did actually see some Halloween decorations in the shops but the Xmas decorations arrived before that, and will continue from now till December or probably January, but at least there was a token amount of Halloween stuff! Albeit all plastic-y rubbish lol. Grits are something we don't have here so it is always a bit weird to see people ordering it on TV. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

  2. It is crazy how early holiday decorations are out. But I guess they are trying to capture the fall tourist dollars as people go by on the Mass Pike. Your breakfast looks yummy, and I like how the silverware comes with an art supply. That's worth the money right there. HAppy T day. I hope we see the sun earlier rather than later today. hugs-Erika

  4. I posted a few weeks ago on how Halloween decorations have been out of the stores here and that xmas is up. Nothing for fall or TG. I think it is pathetic. My opinion. Nice that the flatware came in a little bag that is brilliant. Have a very nice day today.

Christmas decorations are out here, too. So strange... Poor neglected Thanksgiving.

  11. I have been to places that serve silverware in the little bags. I always ask anyone around me for theirs, too. I have made little books from them. I look forward to seeing your weathergram, so much different from how I used mine.

We don't have a Cracker Barrel in Wichita, but there is one on one of the major highways about 20 miles away. Seems sad that Halloween and Christmas are lumped together, but that is how we seem to do things these days and we forget Thanksgiving. Your breakfast looked decadent. I'm not a fan of scrambled eggs, but I sure like the looks of those pancakes. I am definitely NOT a fan of grits. Can't understand why they are so popular in restaurants that serve "American" food. You and Sally would get along great with your choice of eggs and grits!

Thanks for sharing your breakfast, your tea, and your trip to Cracker Barrel with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

To answer your question, my cats don't mess with my plants, although Bleubeard rubs up against the catnip, which Squiggles hates. My cats don't climb, either. They are well trained (I wish).

    1. Ink didn't like catnip. I haven't tried it with the babies yet.

  14. I must say those mugs do look quite hefty - I really don't enjoy my drinks so much from thick rimmed mugs - I love the colour though.
Your breakfast looks interesting - I love scrambled egg with bacon and cheesecake pancake is something I am sure I would love. I have always wondered what grits taste like as we only make porridge from oats, milk and water in the UK - great with honey!
As for Christmas filing the shelves - it's started here too!
I love it when restaurants have free art supplies - over this last trip I collected cutlery bags, napkins, doilies, paper wrappers and fruit stickers - sometimes staff would bring me a clean items, much to hubby's embarrassment!
Belated Happy T day, hugs, Chris x

    1. Hominy grits are finely ground corn. You boil them in water like porridge and eat with salt and butter though I prefer mine without the butter.

I love what you collect for art supplies and I'm laughing at your hubby's reaction
