Throwback Thursday

The battery in my everyday wristwatch died.  I've been wearing a wristwatch since I got my first when I was 7 years old, and I'm lost without one. While packing up for class, I had mumbled what am I going to do?  The Eldest simply stated use your phone. Easy for the young people. I just can't seem to get my head around that. Old dog, new tricks.

I decided to rummage through my jewelry box to see if my good watch, the one Himself gave me as a gift on our wedding day, was working. It's battery had run out, too. Then I found the little watch. The one I got for Christmas when I was 7 years old. It didn't run by battery. It was an old-time watch that had to be wound. I carefully pulled out the stem and gently wound it up. And..it began ticking!

Of course, now my problem is I need a magnifying glass to see the tiny face.

Do you use a watch or a phone to tell the time?

  1. I stopped wearing a watch the day I 'broke out' of a job that timed EVERYTHING you did! (Including going to the bathroom!) :-/
