How Does Your Garden Grow?

The snow finally melted!

I'm still trying to figure out what the message was from the female cardinal. Color me still freaked.

I had just put out the December garden flag when it started snowing!

A few of the Christmas decorations making their appearance.

The dusting of snow didn't stop the chickadee from stopping by for a snack.

I'm a weather junkie so Merry Christmas to me a Wetterhaus (weather house). Technically, it's a hygrometer which measures the relative humidity. When it's dry out, the Mrs. comes out of the house. When it's wet out, the Mr. comes out of the house. I had the weather house in the studio, but modern houses are so tightly sealed the relative humidity in the house was 45, which is average so the gent never left the house. I decided to see what would happen if I put the weather house in the front porch. It rained all day and still misting and foggy at night. Look who finally came out of the house!

  2. I like the weather Christmas house. But I am jealous all your snow is gone. We are still white, but its crusty white. Not pretty white any more. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

    1. Crazy weather. I just took the trash out and it's warm outside like Spring. Hope the warm temps reach you and all your snow melts

  3. I love the seasonal decorations. I miss seeing chickadees. We used to get them but haven't seen them in years. It's the same with the tufted titmouse, those fickle birds ;) I think the weather house is a fascinating idea.

    1. The black-capped chickadee is the state bird of Massachusetts. I have seen tufted titmouses? or titmice? along with nuthatches. They tend to congregate at the feeder together. The weather house is cute and it will be interesting to see if it's a better indicator of the weather than the weather dudes.

    1. It is. I was hoping to keep it in the studio, but with all the insulation in the house, there's not enough air movement to allow it to change.

  5. You don't want the weather house to visit my house. I have zero insulation in my place, so there would be a constant battle between Mr. and Mrs.
