The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Remembered my friend, Darrell. He would have turned 78 last Sunday.

2. Started watching a new to me show on Netflix called The Good Place with Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. Very funny premise.

3. Worked on lesson plan for Spring classes

4. Found out both session of the workshop I'm teaching at my local library filled.

5. Cleaned and organized the pantry

How was your week?

  1. Sounds good, the pantry looks so tidy. Mine could do with a makeover! Valerie

    1. Hopefully, the pantry will stay tidy for longer than a week.

  2. You must be VERY skinny or have real long arms - how do you reach the pieces in the back of that room?
Did you find real old stuff?
I found "best before"-dates reaching back to the 70´s in my parent´s home (in 2012).
80 and "would have". Sounds sad to me, glad it´s a good thing (too remember him).

    1. I'm not skinny and can just about fit into the closet. It's a good incentive not to put on any more weight.😺 Yes, I did find some expired items, not going back that far. I did the math wrong. It should be 78. Still sad. Darrell was like a big brother to me and he passed away much to young.

  3. You have been busy! This week all my days seem to have run into one. Can't tell which day it is today.

    God bless.

  4. Sounds like a good week. Cleaning the pantry shelves is a HUGE accomplishment in my book. Not a favorite thing for me. Mine was busy, and itchy as Im a bad phase with my chronic hives. I need vacation next week. Happy Friday. Hugs-Erika

    1. With your vacation week, this week, hopefully things like hives will calm down.

  5. Congrats on the classes being filled already. Sounds like your reputation precedes you. That's a nice pantry system. Space saver, if it's the pull out system I'm thinking of.

    1. Sadly, it's not a pull out system. It requires climbing into the closet, there's a 2 foot or so step up as this closet was built over the steps leading to the basement. A stupid place to put a closet, but this is the house that Jack built.

  6. Forgot to mention, although I never watched it (I don't watch comedies), The Good Place just wrapped up a four or so year run last month. I'm amazed Netflix picked them up now that they are no longer showing new shows. Perhaps I don't understand Netflix.

    1. Netflix will show earlier seasons, but won't show a current season that is running on a network

  8. It must be pantry week.... For some inexplicable reason I put four gallon jugs of water on a high back shelf (what was I THINKING) and they decided yesterday was a good time to spring a leak! Hahahaha..... If I hadn't heard the dripping it would have been a REAL disaster. :-/
Now every can/box/container is shiny and clean in there!!!

    1. Guess the jugs decided you needed to clean in there. After all, you had nothing better to do, right? 😉

  9. Congrats on getting both of your class sessions filled! The pantry looks good. It's nice to have this kind of space.

    1. I'd be lost without this space. The kitchen is tiny and not much cabinet space.

  10. Sounds very good.
When you do something like cleaning and organising the pantry, it somehow makes you feel extra-specially pleased!

    All the best Jan
