How Does Your Garden Grow?

Lily of the valley pips poking up through the violets

The male cardinal was keeping an eye on me as I walked around the yard

Hosta

Little grape hyacinths

Himself's birthday month flag

Daffodil trumpets the petals have dried up

Buds on the snowball bush

Two-toned daffodils

a sunny dandelion

The cardinal had flown high up into the tree. Watching me and singing, to it, to it, to it, purdy, purdy, purdy Perhaps a warning to his mate in the nest in the honeysuckle vine

Late afternoon and this dandelion is going to sleep

She's hard to see, but the female cardinal is sitting in the nest

The Japanese maple is leafing out

as is the swamp maple

foggy morning

The bunny enjoys the grass over the septic tank

Mr. and Mrs. Goldfinch at the feeder.

How does your garden grow?

  1. The grass is always greener over the septic tank! LOL (wouldn't that make a great book title?) Your garden is waking up. The snowball bush promises a great show this year. :)

    1. You're too late with the book title idea. Erma Bombeck published her book The Grass is Always Greener Over The Septic Tank in 1976. However, I don't believe title are copyrighted. 😉

  2. I JUST came back here to amend my comment after remembering that Erma Bombeck already used that title! LOL .....sorry :-/

  5. Your hostas are up way more than mine. Isn't it great to see things getting so green? I spent a good chunk of my day working outside until a stray shower came through. Did you get any? Its all looking great in your yard CJ. Hope it was a bright day for you.

  6. Love the birthday month flag!
In the neighbor´s garden the tree suddenly is green with leaves. As if it had happened over night!
Sad side: it will be hard to see Peanut´s siblings chasing each other there...

    1. No, as you see Peanuts's siblings, you'll remember the happy times you had seeing him, and the times he enjoyed treats at your house

  8. If I want anything in bloom this time of year (except for the honeysuckle) I have to buy it already in bloom. Your flowers are a treat to see. The goldfinches loved us when we had that Big Snow, but they haven't come back since. The chickadee, otoh, has been a frequent visitor these last few weeks. Aren't cardinals a wonderful bright spot?!

  9. Your garden looks far better than mine. Mine is waking slowly. I just love how yours is doing. And that birthday flag is wonderful, too. I love that Japanese Maple. It is beautiful. This is a delightful garden post this week. So much green and a cardinal family, too.

    1. I’m glad you can see her. She really scrunches way down in the nest. Sometimes all you can see is a little bit of her orange beak
