How Does Your Garden Grow?

The garden flag that will take me from now until July to celebrate Memorial Day (May 31), Flag Day, (June 14),  and the Fourth of July

The greenhouse is small, measures 6 feet by 8 feet. The foundation frame is anchored to cement blocks. Plastic panels inserted into grooves for the roof and sides. Supposedly the panels are strong enough to withstand snow. We'll see.

Plant Net, a free app, identified this thing growing at the edge of the woods as a black raspberry.

The morning glories planted in Ink's garden seem to have reseeded themselves. I dug up a bunch and replanted them

in hanging baskets at the Zensical garden

in troughs out front so they can attach to the trellis

and at the post lantern

In the rail boxes this is either some sort of phlox or verbena. Whatever it is, it's pretty.

A clump of dandelions facing the sun

Iris among the weeds

A golden finch visiting the bird feeder.

For the Memorial Day weekend, cold 42's though this Hitchhiker is staying inside and nearly an inch of rain with more rain on the way for the entire weekend. Upside is we're not in a drought anymore.

  1. Love your flag, and... define small! Our balcony has that size ;-) Well a wee bit bigger.
Oh, you have a very beautiful place!

42 here (in Celsius) would be a bummer! - I´d be happiest! We have 16C and I have no idea, something IS growing on the balcony! Weed, flowers???

    Have a happy holiday!

    1. Your temp. isn't much better. Show what's growing on the balcony maybe someone can identify it.

  2. It's unseasonably cold here, too. Brrr!!! Your garden is looking forward to warmer days, I see. I am impressed with the greenhouse.

    1. I'm looking forward to seeing what Himself will do with the greenhouse because I thought it would make a nice, little, Summer studio. 😺

  4. The greenhouse looks fantastic. It's rainy and chilly here in CT, too, but maybe a few degrees warmer than you (but not much). You're lucky to have Goldfinches coming your bird feeder. I like the garden flag.

    1. So good to hear from you. Did you get a lot of rain? We got over an inch on Sat. with more for Sun. Upside is we're not in the drought area

  5. Spring has sprung! Looks nice. (We're supposed to get rain today too! YAY! The drought index here is ABOVE dangerous and the wildfires have started. C'mon rainy season!)

  6. Lots of things to like about this post - the trellis', the flag, the greenhouse (always wanted one). Nice!

    1. Himself said it wasn't too expensive if you don't mind do it yourself and have an 8 x6 ft. spot for it

  7. That greenhouse is fantastic CJ. I am curious how it will hold out, but I think I could have a lot of fun in one of those. And I assume you took these photos before this rain moved in. So cold and dreary. Hope you are having a good weekend otherwise.

    1. Yup, took all the photos when the weather was sunny and warm. It was a good weekend for staying inside and playing in the studio and watching Netflix

  8. That's a great flag that is multi useful. I like that greenhouse. My craft room is not much larger than your greenhouse. I hope it holds up in winter, though.

Those trellises are new out front. I was surprised to see them there. What are the two bricks on the sidewalk in the back next to the steps used for? Your garden looks far better than mine.

    1. Himself has difficulty walking. The bottom step has a steeper drop because the walkway has sunk. The bricks are there to provide an extra step until we can get the walk redone.

    I do like your flag.

    All the best Jan

  10. Beautiful CJ! I love your flag! We are in a major heat wave starting tomorrow, for a good week. We've had hardly no rain. That's not good. But, bunnies are still around! Big Hugs!

    1. We had rain all last weekend, some showers today, and expected thunderstorms on Friday. Heatwave arriving for the weekend and the beginning of the week. I haven't seen the bunnies in quite some time.
