Watercolor Play

After torrential amounts of rain and vaccing water from the basement, the sun finally came out. We had unseasonably warm weather over the weekend when Spring Fever finally hit me. I grabbed my sketchbook, a few brushes, watercolors and sat in the sun room and painted these crazy tulips.

Have you had a bout of Spring Fever yet? What flowers have sprouted in your garden?

  1. I LOVE your tulips, it's one of my favorites you've put up here.

I've had blooming crocuses, grape hyacinths and daffodils.

  2. Great picture! Love your use of color. I think my youngest will be an artist. She's four, and she is already trying to reproduce paintings and pictures, and we can actually tell what it is she's doing.

  3. Beautiful. Unfortunately, there's not much in my garden except for the pansies that came back out after the last snow. I need to plant some bulbs next year.

  4. Linda, my daffs on the hill by the driveway sprouted. I might try painting those next.

Georgiana, that's great about your little one!

I love pansies, Julie. I thought they were an annual. Like Prissy, I know nothing about gardening.

I LOVE your lettering! What kind of pen/nib did you use? What is the font? Or is that your personal style?

  7. I really like your tulips! Spring fever hasn't quite hit me yet. We always seem to have one more winter storm in April! I find myself though, searching my local scenes for colours, for a place to shoot pictures, something that I only do in the colourful seasons.

  9. I'm terrible with a pointed pen!! One of my favorite pens is my ruling pen. It makes the coolest modern look. :)
