This Was

a nearly finished baby blanket. All the blanket needed was a finished edging.  Something just didn't look right. A mistake somewhere. I pulled out one round, and then another. And then I found the one tiny mistake ten rounds further down. Now, I'm back to almost the beginning of the blanket, but first, have to untangle this Gordian Knot. I'm glad I don't need this gift to be ready until early December. Good thing I started early.

  2. My grandmother taught me how to crochet many years ago when I was a kid and she always used to make me unravel my work whenever I made a mistake. She would tell me, "You must do it right, or don't bother to do it at all." LOL

  3. I've done that. Pulling apart that is. And last summer I bought some to dye yarn and after I dyed it I got one of those knots. I still have that knot since I haven't yet found the patience to untangle it. I'll mentally send what I have for patience to you CJ so you get it done ASAP. Happy weekend. Crisp and beautiful it sounds. Hugs-Erika

    1. This was a lot of yarn (like a pound!) so I don't want to buy another skein. I am making progress but will take all the patience you can send. As to weather, it could be another 15 or 20 degrees warmer for me.

  4. Well the good thing is you've got plenty of time to finish it for December!
I'm sure the next attempt will be fine.

    All the best Jan

  6. Did you know the Amish intentionally add a mistake into their quilts...because it shows that only God is perfect. You should have left it the way it was and gone with the Amish custom! ;)

    1. :-D I've heard that. The problem is the Amish ladies know where to put "the mistake" wehre it won't alter the pattern. Where I made the mistake, it got magnified a hundred times so the blanket didn't look right.

  7. Oh my, it looks like there's a lot to redo. I really like the colours with soft pink, yellow and mint green - so pretty ๐Ÿ˜. Wishing you a Happy Sunday! J ๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. A lot to redo, but it will keep me off the streets :-D. I like the pastel, variegated yarn. I'm not sure if the baby will be a boy or girl so this will cover all bases.
