The cup with the blue rim reminds me of the tea cup I use to make and store my shell gold.

Beautiful painting from Mary Cassat. Lovely to see your pretty Chinese cup and the implements you use to create your art. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhenI saw the cup in Cassatt's painting, I said, That's my cup! :-D
DeleteGood morning, loved the painting thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day Kathy
Would be fun to climb into the painting to listen to the gossip
Deletewhat a lovely T Day post. Love your pic of the teacup along with the paint palette and brushes:) Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda
DeleteWow, your blue rimmed teacup and saucer matches the painting beautifully! The painting has a lovely richness to it and I enjoyed learning about the artist and painting from the information you provided, thank you 😁. Hope you are having a good week and wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the cup in the painting, I got very excited. My cup isn't an exact match, but it's close.
DeleteI think that's the T Stands for Tuesday spirit -the ladies sharing a pot of tea :) Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteOr run next door to have coffee with Lorette.
DeleteWhat a lovely tea painting... and thank you for introducing me to an artist i never heard of... Happy T day!! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteNice post. I have never noticed this Mary Cassatt. Is it at the MFA? The cups these ladies are using do look like the cups you use for your lettering gold. Nice find. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYup, at the MFA. It's a little like looking for the hidden objects in Highlights magazines. Next time I visit, I'll be mindful of looking for tea cups.
DeleteHow wonderful. The Cassatt at my art museum features a mother and child, another subject Cassatt enjoyed painting. I wish we had something like the one you shared. Not only is it fantastic, it's so uncannily like the one you use to store your shell gold. The photo of the brushes and paint, along with your beautiful cup, go so well with the wonderful Cassatt painting. A truly lovely post for T this Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elizabeth. It was exciting to see "my cup" in the painting.
DeleteIsn't this picture amazing? Such detail.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me ogle.
Have a great one, CJ:)
Glad you enjoyed the ogle :-D
DeleteI love Mary Cassatt's paintings, and quite nice that you shared this one for Tea day! Fun to get a peek at your watercolors, pens and palette too...Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely painting.
DeleteSo your cup is famous! ;) (I was going to say something snarky about your age if you lent Mary Cassatt your cup for her painting but I'll take the high road....lol)
ReplyDeleteI can always count on you for those left-handed compliments ;-D
DeleteAlways here for ya! ;)
DeleteI had to look up shell gold, CJ, though I suspected it had something to do with gold leaf. I took a nice detour online to read more about manuscript illumination.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
Shell gold makes a nice contrast with traditional gilding
DeleteYou obviously take your tea in style! Great 'still life' composition of your cup and painting equipment! :-) Chrisx
ReplyDeleteAlways in style 😀
DeleteI love the painting and it's cool to see your cup in it!
