How Does Your Garden Grow?

At the beginning of the week, I was too busy with homework for the Book of Marks class. By the end of the week when the class was over, my area was in a deep freeze and it was too cold to go out and take pictures. I took pictures of Harvey, the weather station.

The wind speeds are probably a good 10 mph faster. The anemometer is close to the house so protected from the winds.

Harvey is dreaming it feels like 92 oF. Me, too, Harvey. Me, too.

Friday, Feb. 3, 9:47 PM
-5 oF feels like -21 oF

Saturday, Feb. 4, 6:17 AM
-13 oF feels like -22 oF

Saturday, Feb. 4, 9:30 AM
Harvey got too cold and gave up the ghost.

Saturday, Feb. 4, 1:23 PM
with the temperatures on the rise, Harvey was back to reporting
6 oF feels like -5 oF

Jack Frost stopped by leaving paintings on the inside of the windows of the sunroom and in the house

  1. Yes. The deep freeze was / is awful. It was -4 F here yesterday morning. And the winds. :-( Is it Spring yet?

  2. Yesterday with wind chills I think we were at -32. I didn't leave the house and spent a lot of time next to the woodstove. Wasn't the wind brutal? But it is already warmer today today than it has been for 2 days, and in the 40's for me. I'm as excited as I bet you are. Happy Sunday! hugs-Erika

    1. I just went outside to get the mail as I didn't go out for 2 days. The temp reads 33 and it's still cold!

  3. The difference in what counts as cold is fun to note. We have a predicted high today of 58, and our ice has finally melted even on the protected north sides of buildings.

  6. Yes, it has been brutal here the last few days. I don't know which is worse, the bone-chilling winds (VERY windy!) or the freezing temperatures.

    1. I would say the winds because they make the cold feel worse. We're in for a warm up mid-week. I hope you're in that pocket, too.

  7. A couple days this past week, the overnight feels like temp was -25 F one night and -18 F the next. Believe it or not, I actually turned my whole house heat on for three days! Now I'm basking in 55 F and even the electric heater is turned off (till the sun goes down at least). Stay warm, CJ.

  8. Oh, gosh and I dare to complain?! But I´m cold, too. My legs hurt from it (heating turns on soon) and I think my gerbera died.

    1. Oh, too bad about the gerbera. Maybe once the heating is fixed the gerbera will come back

  9. Oh goodness! Sorry about your weather...

Meanwhile here in the UK I enjoyed a leisurely walk and actually saw some early flowering daffodils!

Keep as warm as you can.

    All the best Jan
