T Stands for Stroopwafels

Not long ago, a few of the T gang were talking about Stroopwafels. I had never had them so when I saw them in the impulse buy area of the checkout lane, I grabbed a package. As per instruction, the waffle is placed over a steaming hot beverage where the heat does it's magic and turns the caramel filling into gooey goodness.

Mmmmm, perfect while watching Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. If you look carefully at the lower right of the picture  you may be able to see Calli asleep in her Christmas Tree house.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. Not had a stroopwafel for a while, my friend in Holland usually sends them, or I get them from the airport on the way home from there. At least your cat is asleep and not blocking the screen (I was not so lucky as you will see today lol) Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

  3. I see Cali asleep, and I see your treat too. I still haven't tried heating a stroopwafel over a cup of hot drink, but I am going to do that one day. Yours looks yummy and like a nice snack with your movie too. Happy Valentine's Day and T day too CJ. hugs-Erika

  4. Good morning that looks so good, I have never seen those here-perhaps the amish store may have them-but then just thought they won't be gluten free I am thinking-what a fun treat though Happy T

Ghidorah! I'd never heard of most of these monsters 'til the kids introduced me to them.

    Happy T Tuesday

  8. Oh lovely! I love stroopwafels! You can heat them up any old way, I used to just lay one on the radiator while I made my coffee. I have also tried the microwave with disastrous results (it makes the caramel runny). I hope you actually liked them (You didn't say).
    Happy T-Day and Valentine's Day,
    Hugs,

  11. I have never had a stroopwafel. I beleive McDonalds had a specialty flurry flavor that was stroopwafel. It was good. I thought it was just a fancy way to promote caramel and cookie flavor. LOL

  14. I would have been by sooner, but was out much of the day getting supplies before the snow and freezing temps hit tonight.

Several people, including Valerie, have told me they are at Aldi, but I have not seen them here. I received mine as a gift and I enjoyed both waffles. I read you did, too.

Thanks for sharing the kitties and your stroopwafel and tea with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

BTW, your temps are warmer than mine.

  19. I still need to try this with stroopwafels. I've eaten one once, but not after heating it over a hot drink. It sounds perfect for today, and even the TV sounds perfect too. How much snow do you have so far? My husband just was speaking with someone who lives in Westminster and he said they have 18 inches at this point. Holy cow. Happy T day. hugs-Erika

    1. Heavy rain just turned over to snow about 9 AM. It's coming down pretty good now. We're in a 6-10 range. My town is at a higher elevation so we will most likely be on the high side. Is it July, yet?
