1. I celebrated Towel Day by wearing my 42 tee shirt and keeping my towel close by
2. I washed the outside windows. At least I got the top layer of dirt off
3. The checkout clerk called me Miss. I'm probably old enough to be his grandmother.
4. Haircuts. First ones in the shop and no wait.
5. We have ice. Himself fixed the ice maker in the fridge that went on the fritz when a bitty ice cube got stuck at the back
How was your week?
I think we have something in common here. Every time I visit any shopping spots, at local amusement park, I am not good at standing in line waiting for my turn to achieve what I wan
ReplyDeleteI don't mind waiting. We tried to get haircuts the day before and the wait time was over an hour. Nope, too long to wait
DeleteI MISSED TOWEL DAY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMiss :-)
I cut my hair myself. It´s not worth the money...
Ingo bought a soft-cream-ice-making-machine and used it... twice.
My week... an up and down.
The sketch-book I bought to follow your example...I just do the T´s...
But I had at least 5 nice encounters with people...
I got to a cheap haircut place plus they give a discount for old people. Towel Day is May 25. Mark your calendar for next year
DeleteTowel Day - the rest of the year is made up of No Towel Days?
ReplyDeleteTowel Day, May 25, is a Geek holiday to honor author, Douglas Adams, for "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" You can hear about the importance of a towel spoken by the author here: https://cjkennedyink.blogspot.com/2024/05/a-happy-little-time-waster-tribute.html
DeleteI didn't know it was towel day. And hurrah for having ice. Our upstairs freezer (with the frig) only sporadically makes ice. It only sporadically freezes things. But I finally broke down and bought a new frig this week-to be delivered next week. :) I'll be joining you with the having-ice-happy-dance then. Enjoy this lovely day before the rain.
ReplyDeleteHooray for new appliances! Can you believe 11 Saturdays in a row of rain? When will this pattern break?
DeleteI didn't know about towel day. The ice cubes look so refreshing.
ReplyDeleteI like ice cubes in my cold beverages
DeleteWow... wish our icecube fix would be that easy... no the cost of the parts and the cost of having a technician come from another town to fix it... We might as well buy a new frig... uuugh... BUT at the time the frig we wanted came with two icemakers in it... one on top and one in the bottom freezer and we thought oh.. we'll never use that second icemaker....nneevverrrr... thats overkill ... HA! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteGood that there was a backup. Himself was able to do the fix with a hair dryer
DeleteI absolutely love this list, especially the Towel Day celebration and getting the ice maker fixed – those little wins make such a difference! And being called "Miss" by a checkout clerk? That's definitely a confidence booster, no matter your age! Sounds like a week of small but mighty victories.
ReplyDeleteI just shared a new post, I invite you to read and let me know what you think.
It's always about the Little Victories
DeleteSounds like a good week. I need to catch up soon. We've been babysitting new granddaughter and grand dog and enjoying time with the family. Plus - .....the yard work has begun, ugh.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun and busy time.
DeleteGreat that the ice maker is fixed. Nice the clerk called you Miss. And of course I missed towel day! However, I DID finally mow and dig the weeds out of my herbs. Some of them, any way.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for making progress
