The acronym ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards. The artwork is 2 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches in size. ATCs are always traded and never sold.
Saturday, when I got home from the workshop at the library, I found a delightful envelope from Erika at BioArtGal. She had used the bird stamps.
The back was decorated with a fun tea themed rubber stamp and washi tape which I was able to carefully peel off.
Inside the envelope was a wonderful, hand-made card and not one, but three ATCs
Perhaps, you would like some raspberry herbal tea?
Or perhaps, you'd care for a cup of coffee?
Me? I'll take a cup of steaming hot, English Breakfast tea. Good any time. Day or night.
Thanks, Erika, for the wonderful mail surprise. The details of your card and ATCs are so delightful. I love the little spoons, the hearts, and the trim which reminds me of fancy napkins.
Thank you also to Bleubeard and Elizabeth. I really enjoy the T Stand for meme and being able to have a good to go subject for Tuesdays.
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.
Lucky YOU. Those ATCs put mine to shame. Seriously, I'm now rather embarrassed, since mine are really dull and plain compared to the ones Erika made. They are fabulous, and you are really lucky.
ReplyDeleteTwo things I like about ATCs:
1. They are never sold, although people try to sell them on E-bay and such, but call them ACEO.
2. You never have to worry about conversions, because they are the same size whether they are created in Russia, Brazil, or Massachusetts.
Thanks for sharing these with us for T this Tuesday.
I feel the same way about the one I made. But instead of calling them dull and plain, let's say we are minimalists. :-D
DeleteOh my, those ATCs are just fabulous and thanks for explaining what they are and how they work too 😀. Erica has done such a fabulous job creating these, the texture on the backgrounds is amazing and then there are the lovely embellishments and that lace trim is so pretty! A perfect T Day treat and as I don't drink caffeine I'll join you for a raspberry herbal tea please - Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeleteEricka was thoughtful enough to include something for all tastes.

Erika was so generous. The blog background is a picture of my cat, Ink, that I used a seamless tiling filter on.
DeleteThe ATC 's you received look fantastic. Your cup in the first photo looked really pretty.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day.
Yvonne xx
The cup is a cloissonne Christmas ornament. I keep it in a curio cabinet the rest of the year.

ReplyDeleteI know. So fun to look at.

DeleteHow lovely to receive the wonderful cards in such a special way as well.
ReplyDeleteHave a very happy T Day
Love Chrissie xx
It was a lovely surprise
DeleteYou got some striking ATCs, and packaged in such a creative way :) You must've felt like it was Christmas when you opened your package.
ReplyDeleteI love the cup and saucer in your photo at the top of the post. So elegant!
Happy T Tuesday
Christmas, indeed. the cup and saucer was a souvenir from a Christmas shop we visited when we took The Eldest to Boston for the first time when she was 4 years old.
DeleteWhat lovely ATCs you got from Erika, how kind of her to send you three, enjoy! Your cup and saucer are gorgeous, too. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteErika was so kind.
DeleteWow, Erika really went all out with her ATC package for you, CJ! The card is lovely and every ATC is just charming. I enlarged all the photos to admire the tiny details ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
Aren't they fun? So much texture
DeleteThose are some gorgeous ATC's!!!! I'm not so sure if making them is my cup of tea though... i made two for the exchange but don't really enjoy working that small.. Thank you for explaining about them.. The best i can understand about the difference between ATC and ACEO's is the ATC can be a print of your artwork say but the ACEO has to be all original.. you would actually paint your pic on the small size... happy T day!! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThat's the beauty of art. You work however you like best. Big or small. It's all art.
DeleteSnail mail art is the BEST! Aren't you the lucky one! :D
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteAww, how neat. And I love the way everyone is decorating their envelopes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for explaining the acronym. I was wondering.
Mail art is so much fun
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the card and ATCS. I think they way you photographed them on that lovely vintage looking doiley makes them look better than I remember them being. LOL. Happy T day CJ. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour card and ATCs made the doily look good. Thanks again for your generosity
