T Stands for Leo, Henry's Cousin

Iris from the beautiful, German city of Braunschweig shows off images of Henry the Lion, the city mascot on her blog, Double-Half or One Ten without ham. I was disappointed I never saw any lions around when out and about and then one day I was wearing a ring that Himself and I gave to my dad,

and then I started to see Leo, Henry's cousin.

Here is one of the lions at the main entrance to the McKim Building (the Old Library) at the Boston Public Library. My father told me his Uncle Manny was one of the stonecutters that carved the lions. I've blogged about that here.

Godiva chocolates. The Lion of Belgium, another cousin of Henry

Pricey charm for your handbag

Knee pads for baby

This was from a video of a lion cub playing with his Dad's tail. Dad was not amused.

While cleaning the basement, I remembered the souvenir stein from a trip to Germany when I was in high school. Would anyone care for a big gulp of tea? beer? wine?

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  2. Not sure my comment went through. If it did please delete this one. That was a lucky ring CJ. You found lots of lions. I never see any. Maybe I need a ring to help me spot them too. Have a great T day!

    1. I haven't been able to definitely prove that Uncle Manny worked on the lions, but I like to think he did.

  10. I bet Iris is overjoyed to see all those lions. I am truly impressed, too. My undergrad university's mascot was a lion and I grew up in Lyons, KS, whose mascot was obviously a lion, too. I've been around lions as long as I remember. I don't see any 42's though. I LOVE that German stein. I used to collect them when I lived in MO. Yours is sweet. Thanks for sharing all your lions and your stein with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

    1. Oh, no 42s in this post. I meant I didn't see 42 until I followed Divers blog for awhile. Ditto seeing lions and Iris' blog

    2. Sorry, I didn't mean I didn't see any 42s in THIS post, I meant I don't see 42s in general.

I actually came back to tell you the reason I didn't blow bubbles into the dawn and coffee was because I've done that in the past. However, I start with dry paper and allow the bubbles to land on the paper. For the coffee technique, I started with coffee stained and saturated paper. Next time, I'll start with dry paper instead of saturating it with coffee first.

  13. There is something so majestic about lions. And I love the ring. It's beautiful. I'm currently wearing the Mother's Ring I got my mom, many, many years ago.
    Take special care, my friend.

    Thankk you!!!

    And what a brave girl!
What a question, beer, please! I´ve never been in Heidelberg, fun (or sad?) to see when others from other countries know more of "yours" - but I love to learn.
    Sorry I´m late, too....
