T Stands for Errands and IHOP

Blogger enjoys a back to front story.

Home again, home again. Jiggity jig. It's been so wet the lawn guy hasn't be able to come to mow the hayfield.

Traffic from construction backed up on The Pike (I-90) so Himself decided to get off the exit before the one that leads home. We traveled some of the back roads home.

We stopped at the Savers Donation Center to drop off a microwave, toaster oven, and a blender

My kind of weather

Himself's Youngest Brother leaves stones as a reminder of his visit to the grave.

We stopped to visit Himself's parents grave so Himself could tend the plants. He usually stops once a week on his way to the dojo to workout. Somebody left a pink geranium.

On the way down, we listened to WMEX at 1510 on the AM dial. They play Oldies. This is a reboot with the same call numbers and dial setting I listened to as a kid with DJ Arnie "WooWoo" Ginsburg. Only back then the songs I listened to weren't "oldies" but the Top 40 of the day.

Breakfast. I had the Strawberry Banana French Toast Combo with scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns. No, I didn't eat all that food. I ate the French toast and took the rest home. Looks like I missed my beverage which was a cup of tea. You can see the Half n Half for the tea and the bottom of Himself's Coke in the upper right of the corner.

IHOP Menu. So many choices!

The first errand of the day, the Car Wash

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. I like the tradition of putting stones onto grave markers, that's always done in the Jewish tradition. Your food looks good. Funny how the songs of our youth are now ancient history. Happy T Day, Valerie

    1. I like the tradition, too. Can’t do it where my parents are buried as decorations and planting are not allowed. I bring sunflower bird seeds to leave on top. Don’t tell 🤫

  4. We sing along to the oldies, we were saying it’s funny how we can remember all the words after fifty odd years.
Your breakfast looks lovely and tasty.
In Spain everyone gets out of their cars in the car wash, I always do as I hate it when the air dryer comes up the front window , I panic and think it’s going to hit it, mad I know.

    1. The music isn’t that old so it’s funny it’s considered ancient.

  5. Nice day out. This must have been before the rain event that seems to never end. Wet here again this morning-it is for you also? And your breakfast looks very yummy. We used to go to IHOP when my daughter was living at home but haven't been since. And I teased my husband last night and said it is time to mow the weeds. He hasn't mowed in weeks. Your lawn looks lovely. Hope you have a nice Tuesday and T day. Hugs-Erika

    1. I woke up this morning and said to Himself, Oh, what a surprise, it's raining! He said he had the same thought! And more rain the rest of the week. Sigh.

  6. Sometimes it's nice to have to take a back road or two- you never know what you might find:) That is some filling breakfast wow. I have a hard time eating so much at once but it sure does look good. Happy T day!

    1. The French toast was especially delicious and having the rest for dinner was nice as I didn't have to cook. Himself took a doggy bag home, too.

  7. I like your idea of leaving seeds for the birds better than the stones! I can just imagine the people working at the cemetery wondering why the birds always gather at your parents stone more than any others.....spooky! LOL ;)

  9. Meadow! Just sayin' ;)

I remember the first time I saw rocks on gravestones. Turns out in that case it was a Jewish tradition. My younger son always points out that the oldies keep getting older. No matter how much time passes, "oldies" are never newer than the 70s or 80s. My generation still rules radio lol I would've eaten all that food ;) and maybe his as well. Bacon! IHOP offers so many choices :)

    Happy T Anniversary!

  10. Sorry, CJ, but I'm a classic rock fan. I think it was classic when I started listening to it. I swoon for Pink Floyd.

You certainly had a busy day. IHOP is famous everywhere. Here they are always so busy, you are starving before they ever take your order. Then you want to eat your napkin before the food ever arrives. Don't tell them it's cold when you get it, or you won't see the heated one till next week (grin). That's the one I go to. There are two others in town I haven't tried. Your food looks great and fresh, too. You and Sally would get along, because you both like scrambled eggs. I prefer sunny side up.

Thanks for taking us with you on your day out, and to the cemetery, and of course to IHOP for food and drink on this special anniversary T Tuesday, dear friend.

BTW, I was surprised about my Extreme Choc Moose Tracks ice cream. There were NO peanut butter cups in this ice cream. Just solid chocolate (the tracks) and chocolate ice cream.

  12. I will take the 70’s in temperature and music! I do remember Arnie woo woo Ginsburg too and Charles Laquedera. I hardly ever listen to the radio these days. Happy t day

    1. If I listen to music on the radio, it's usually classical music when I'm driving by myself. Otherwise, semi-classical music, sports, or WBZ when Himself drives

  13. Yes the placing of rocks is a Jewish tradition, however, one that we can all practice. Looks like a nice ride and great meal. Have a nice Tuesday.

  14. We haven't been to an IHOP since before Covid. I like their menu, but around here, unless it is one of the newest ones, they don't seem to keep them clean, maybe because they are too busy to clean? Don't know. Happy T Day!

    1. Yeah, I've noticed the older ones aren't that clean so I won't go to the older ones. The new ones seem to be well kept.

  15. I have been dropping off a lot of stuff to our local thrift store as well. My thrift queen daughter said it is like a trip down memory lane going to the thrift store. She almost re-bought two things the other day - lol! Love your breakfast pictures - makes me want to go to IHOP now! Happy late T-day! Stay cool!
