Whatcha Doin?

For a couple of hours, Himself and I chopped, measured, , browned, and mixed as we put together ingredients to make 8 crockpot meals to freeze ahead of time. Hopefully, there won't be any food prep (other than thawing and dumping the bag contents into the crockpot) for a week or so.

Whatcha doin?

  3. I wish I had your 'get up and go'! (I don't usually think about dinner until Husband asks what we're having! LOL)

    1. I really hate to cook. I hate the thinking about what to have and the food prep. This way, it's done once and then free time for the rest of the week

  4. Great idea! I used to work with a woman years ago who would cook ALL of her meals for the week every Sunday. :-).

    1. Because my mother worked, she used to do that a lot. And that was before the crockpot was invented

  8. It's an interesting concept-- what's the variety of the crockpot meals? We buy a roast (beef or pork) because it's on sale but with two of us we end up eating it over the course of a week and by the fourth day I can't even look at it anymore.

    1. There's a wide variety of meals. Chicken, pork, ground beef, beef. Some cooked with carrots and potatoes.

  10. I had some roasted vegetables in the freezer from several weeks ago, and they are now in soup for dinner. It looks pretty good! But it wasn’t really planned like your meals.

    1. After 37 years of cooking, the activity has lost its charm. I need to have stuff ready to go.

  11. Nice planning. I've never been good at pre-prep like that. But what I really like is that you and the hubby did it together. Now that's love. hugs-Erika

  13. When I worked in industry and went to school at night, I fixed every meal for the week on Sunday. I mostly fixed food I could eat on the run, because I eat so slowly, 30 minutes for lunch is not long enough for me. Most times I would eat in my car when I was driving from work to school, which was 40 miles. Now I should probably prepare a few meals that I could either add to a crock pot or heat in the microwave. Great idea on your part and great that the two of you did it together.

Wanted you to know I received your lovely envelope and card(?) today. I will open it and share for T this next week, dear CJ. Thanks in advance.
