On this eighth day after Christmas, or ninth day of Christmas depending on your reckoning
From 2. Janurary 2015, a Friday Five Good Things
Five good things that happened this week.
1. Visited Himself's side of the family at the annual Gathering
2. Had brunch at Lambie's and a fabulous visit. Her Christmas decorations were still up. She has such a knack for decorating, and her house should be featured in a magazine.
3. Had the The Brother and his wife over. They gave us a gift card to The Cheesecake Factory. We spent the card on a date night. I took home a slice of Chris' Outrageous Cheesecake and I didn't share!
4. Each day, I display an affirmation card. The card chosen for New Year's Eve was Dream. I thought it was perfect. Rather than looking back, look forward as I start The Good Things journal for 2015.
5. Between all the leftovers from the Brother's visit, eating out, and our tradition of having Chinese food for New Year's Eve, I haven't cooked all week!
How was your week?
It's your turn to play. From Elizabeth: Now it's time to share your Second on the 2nd. The rules are quite simple and everyone is welcome to join the fun look back. All you have to do is bring back a post that you are especially proud of, or perhaps one you shared before anyone knew your blog existed. Any post, any genre, any artistic endeavor is acceptable. Join hosts Bleubeard and Elizabeth to see what else is being served up the Second Time Around.
I love your comment about bringing home cheesecake and not sharing. That's what I would do too. It's fun sometimes to be selfish, isn't it? Happy 1/2/23. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteA bit easy to not share something when other people don't like cheesecake or coconut 😺
DeleteLovely artwork and week that you looked back upon. Happy New Year!

DeleteI can't imagine being good enough at something to be featured in a magazine. Nice! Looking forward and not back is always a good idea.

ReplyDeleteI've been keeping the Good Things Journal since 2014. It shows up weekly on my Friday Five Good Things
DeleteI was highly impressed with this lovely retrospective, CJ. It's obvious 2015 started out as a very good year. And cheesecake! It's obviously a first look for me. Thanks for this amazing second look on the 2nd. Any day you don't have to cook or clean up afterward is a good day in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteNo cooking or cleaning is a very good day
DeleteA good look back to 2015 :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Wishes for 2023.
All the best Jan
Thank you, Jan
DeleteCheesecake factory is amazing. We go about once a year. I love the journal idea.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been there in a while. It's always so busy and sometimes I get overwhelmed by their huge menu
DeleteA date night sounds soooo good! Glad you get along with your Brother´s wife. Sadly not the case here.
ReplyDeleteI might steal your idea of Chinese food for New Year's Eve! Please?
Chinese food for New Year's Eve is a popular custom in the US.
