Book of Marks Process

After the book was sewn, time to go through the button box to find a button for the closure. I like the teal buttons, but I think they may be too small for the 8 in. x 10 in. book.

I had to leave class early so I missed how the closure is done with button and ribbon as well as some of the decorating and ascemic writing inside the book. I'll have to wait until the video of the class is available so I can see what I missed.

  2. The burgundy colored button is my favorite as it adds a whole lot of contrast. Which did you chose?

    1. It was actually a purple button, but like the teal ones a bit too small

  3. You have several white buttons that are a decent size. Did you know you can paint OR dye buttons? That way, you would have the perfect size for you and the perfect color, too. If dyeing or painting aren't your cup of tea, you could always paint a piece of cardstock and adhere it to the front of the button. If you have a posca or other colored pen, you could also color it that way. AND, it would color the back, too. I love anything white because I can turn it any color I choose. I have dyed a few buttons, but I don't recommend them for actual clothing, although some do. Loving this so far.

  4. This reminded me that my mom use to save buttons and at one point i had a bagfull of them. I don't think I've seen them since 1986.. Have no clue what happened to them.
