Have you read Reading the OED: One Man, One Year, 21,730 Pages by Ammon Shea?
No, I haven't read that. I did watch a movie, "The Professor and the Mad Man" (2019) with Mel Gibson and Sean Penn that dramatized Prof. James Murray's work compiling the first OED
I looked up Selfie because I remembered when it became word of the year in 2013. However, I had NO idea it had been around since 2002!!
My friend, Teague, invented the selfie. She was taking pictures of the two of us at arm's length back in the 1970s.
